Classic Novak. Always happy to provide some entertainment.
As are these two lads in Canada. Shapovalov is having bother with his snapback cap and his shoelaces, maybe that's distracting him as a double fault gives Evans two more break points....
The Canadian teenager saves one after a rally - yes, a rare RALLY - then the second as Evans slaps fresh air in frustration. And Shapovalov goes on to clinch a superb hold with a blink-and-you'll-miss-it ace down the 'T'.
The latest news from Serbia is that Novak Djokovic is fighting back - after trailing by a set and a break he now leads Russia's world number 63 Daniil Medvedev by two sets to one.

Those British fans who have shelled out their hard-earned cash for a tennis holiday are getting their money's worth so far. Anyone know what Ottawa is like as a tourist destination? Bit cold I've heard.
Shapovalov warms things up with a blistering ace to wrap up an easyish hold.

Brian Stokes: Dan Evans is in control, two sets up, but Denis Shapovalov definitely looks an extremely talented player.

It's different when you're working with someone that young. At the moment, he's only got one style of play which is hit and attack. It's been effective in his career and you can't suddenly change that. Martin Laurendeau will be saying he's close, and he needs to keep going for it.

Dan Evans is well on his way to victory. Come on Evo, see this one through. It would be nice to get out of the office before last orders.
Shapovalov saves the two break points, only for the Brummie to regain his composure and take his third opportunity.

What a winner! Dan Evans lunges over to his left to somehow turn a stretching volley into a winner. Another wild forehand from Shapovalov brings up two set points for the Briton...

Laura: That's the way to do it. Save break points and then punish further by breaking your opponent's serve the game after.

Stay of execution for Shapovalov. Dan Evans doesn't offer too much resistance in a confident service game from the Canadian. Over to you Dan, He's serving for the set...

Dan Evans came through that break point and has accelerated since then. It's impressive.
You look at the rankings and think he should win this, but it's not that easy when you're coming up against young player, in front of a home crowd, swinging from the hips.
It's the first time he's been British number one in a tie. The pressure is on him. For Evans to be playing this well gives Kyle Edmund a lot of confidence while he's waiting in the locker room.
*Shapovalov 3-6 2-5 Evans
Easy peasy, lemon squeezy. Dan Evans is sticking his foot down on the accelerator and looking back in his rear-view mirror at Denis Shapovalov. Even the teenage Canadian tying his shoelace at 40-0 does not stop Evo wrapping up a quick hold to love. He is one game away from the second set.
Shapovalov 3-6 2-4 Evans*
Sublime, just sublime. Dan Evans plays his best game of the match so far to break for the first time in this second set.
The Briton earns three break points thanks to a neat lob and a wonderful volley. Can he take this golden opportunity?
One goes when Shapovalov keeps his eye trained on a high lob back from Evans, smashing down the overhead to safety.
The second also goes when Shapovalov thumps home a forehand down the line. But not the third.

Without Andy Murray in the room, GB are heavy favourites to win the world group.
We now have 2 singles players who are moving up and a solid department in the doubles.
Murray's presence has improved the level of players around him. It's good to see.
*Shapovalov 3-6 2-3 Evans
What have we here? A break point for Shapovalov. That disappears almost as soon as it arrives, Evans wiping it out with an ace out wide. But Shapovalov is not going away quietly. Evans saves a second break point with a heavy first serve that Shapovalov crashes back over the baseline, then the Briton hammers down another ace - again out wide - to hold.
Shapovalov 3-6 2-2 Evans*
Excellent from Dan Evans. The Briton is 15-30 down for the fifth time in this match - without offering up a break point yet. And he still hasn't. Evo goes on the front foot, hitting deep forehands either side of the court as Shapovalov goes long.
Then Shapovalov completely wafts at the ball as he lines up a backhand. "You got a hole in your racquet, lad?" is what my old man would have said.
Evo within sight at 40-30, only for Shapovalov to hit back and force deuce...

Shapovalov will have to deal with a lot worse from a Davis Cup crowd than a shout-out. The crowd threw coins when I played in Italy. I didn't win the match but I made a lot of money,
Shapovalov 3-6 2-2 Evans*
Denis Shapovalov has got a bit of showman about him. Or possibly a bit of teenage cockiness. He loves an Isneresque ball bounce between his legs before each serve.
He can't back it up with a solid service game here though. Evans forces deuce, Shapovalov having words with the umpire when he claims someone from the crowd puts him off and he clubs back a dodgy return.
But he doesn't dwell on it. He plugs into the generator and ramps up the power, pushes Evans onto the back foot and winning the game with a ferocious forehand.
*Shapovalov 3-6 1-2 Evans
Shapovalov's confidence is growing, the Canadian crowd's singing is climbing up the decibel meter.
Evans is scrabbling around at 15-30, before fighting back to win with a net volley that a sliding Shapovalov can't reach.
A throat-hurting roar and a fist pump from the Briton tells you how big that hold is.
