Breaking schedule news - Andy Murray will play Martin Klizan in the second match on Suzanne Lenglen Court on Thursday at about 12:00 BST; Kyle Edmund will play Renzo Olivo in the third match on Court Six at about 15:00.
Murray has had a few battles on Lenglen in the past, coming back from two sets down against Richard Gasquet being a highlight, getting thumped off the court by Tomas Berdych in the evening drizzle, less so.
Haase 1-6 3-5 Nadal*
So serving to stay in the set then. Robin Haase draws an error from Rafa Nadal, a rare cheap point in an expensive afternoon so far.
*Haase 1-6 3-5 Nadal
Robin Haase continues to mix his game up, drop shots, lobs, slices, block returns - Rafa Nadal is on everything though. He brings up his fifth game of the set with a punched volley at the net.
*Haase 1-6 3-4 Nadal
Incredible power behind a cross court backhand from Nadal as he smashes a ball away. It must be so dispiriting to hit a good return and then see, or rather not see, that come back over the net.
Haase 1-6 3-4 Nadal*
Robin Haase isn't here to mess about though, a cracking winner brings up another game for him. Picked up short on the half volley and whipped away, beating Nadal for pace and precision.
He's hanging on in there in the second set.
*Haase 1-6 2-4 Nadal
The players are racing through this match, we've not been going an hour yet and Rafa Nadal is already closing in on the second set. He brings up his latest mark on the scoreboard with a punching serve which forces an error.
Haase 1-6 2-3 Nadal*
Robin Haase tries, and pulls off, two well disguised drop shots as the pair trade points. And the Dutchman holds his serve on this occasion.
Haase 1-6 1-3 Nadal*
Another spectacular shot from Robin Haase! He leaps, whole body off the ground, crunching backhand winner down the line, just superb.
And then he punts the next point long and it's 3-1 Nadal in the second set.
What time's your flight home Robin?
*Haase 1-6 1-2 Nadal
Perfectly timed backhand down the line from Nadal. So sweet it barely made a sound off the racket face. He makes this game look so easy at times.
Like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, we'll miss the likes of Rafa when he's gone. Who are the next superstars coming through?

That is a shame for Haase.
He has tried to do the right thing in this second set but there we see the confidence and quality of Rafa Nadal.
Haase 1-6 1-2 Nadal*
Robin Haase is doing well, we all seem to agree, but he's now a set and a break down.
Class apart.

Haase has changed his game style a bit. He is playing much higher over the net, trying to keep Rafa a bit deeper. In the first set he was going toe to toe with Nadal trying to shot trade.
At the moment the change is paying dividends.
Haase 1-6 1-1 Nadal*
Rafa Nadal appeals after a long shot drops out, and he's bang on too.
Haase 1-6 1-1 Nadal*
Nadal has come off the gas, or Haase is making him look like it anyway. Strong start to the second set from the Dutchman, but Nadal does win that service game.
*Haase 1-6 1-0 Nadal
Great shot! Robin Haase with a superb, improvised winner, an inside-out sliced half volley.
Did that have a hint of fortune about it or was that just genius? I can't tell, but it was good enough to beat Rafa. 15-15
*Haase 1-6 1-0 Nadal
Robin Haase has already won as many games in this set as in the first. Solid start from the Dutchman, two aces certainly helped.

Away from the Rafa show, in the bowels of the Philippe Chatrier stadium, Petra Kvitova has been telling us about her second-round loss to Bethanie Mattek-Sands.
The Czech returned to action in Paris for the first time since suffering a career-threatening hand injury when she was stabbed by an intruder at her home in December.
"After the match, I didn't feel as bad as normally I probably do. I'm still happy I'm here and playing. The fairytale ended. Now, in upcoming weeks, I think it will be business as usual.
"That's what I'm looking forward to, just focusing on the tennis and on the game and everything what I do need to improve to my game."
Petra Kvitova's return to action came to an end in the second round of the French Open as she lost 7-6 (7-5) 7-6 (7-5) to Bethanie Mattek-Sands.
Kvitova, 27, only returned to full-time practice at the start of May after being stabbed in December.
The Czech - a two-time Wimbledon champion - suffered career-threatening injuries to her left hand.
She rallied from 3-1 down to take the second set to a tie-break but lost to the American on a double fault.
Haase 1-6 0-0 Nadal*
And after that little wait we are up and running in the second set, Robin Haase starting us off with a crunching ace.
