  1. Hard to beat?published at 14:56 British Summer Time 31 May 2017

    Robin Haase 0-1 Rafael Nadal*

    You could say that.

A reminder of the frankly ridiculous statistic that Rafael Nadal has lost two matches at Roland Garros.

    Two matches - ever.

Best of luck to you Robin...

    Robin Haase 0-1 Rafael Nadal*

Rafael Nadal comes out the blocks like, well, exactly like you'd expect. Like a powerhouse. He rips through his opening service game in about the time it takes to hum the intro to Meat Loaf's 'I'd do anything for love.'

The game is punctuated by a classy cross-court winner from Robin Haase though. Both feet of the ground, backhand, wooosh! Fantastic, if ultimately futile, shot.

    Robin Haase v Rafael Nadal

Rafa is out there warming up, looking every inch the dominant presence of his relative youth. Bedecked in purple shirt and white shorts as the players knock up.

    All set?

    Robin Haase v Rafael Nadal

If Rafa Nadal can win a 10th French Open he'd be the first man to win 10 of the same Grand Slam. A phenomenal effort, especially considering the status of his competitors in the last decade or so.

He is only in the second round though, let's not forget. It is the 13th straight year that he's reached round two...

Could this be the year Rafael Nadal wins the French Open for a 10th time?

He may be the wrong side of 30 now, he may have been plagued by knee injuries, but he also may be playing his best tennis in years.
