    *Nadal 6-1 6-3 1-0 Millman

Rafael Nadal is fascinating to watch. All those little tics and routines as he prepares for each point.

Another sterling winner down the line is too good for John Millman, who can only stand and raise his arms as the ball spins onto the line.

A daft, deft backhand from Nadal, chopping at the last second, spins the ball over the net. Two magnificent shots, and Nadal gets the early break.

    *Kvitova 6-3 3-2 Larsson

Petra Kvitova has found herself a set and a break up against Johanna Larsson on Centre Court.

Larsson looks like she's going to hold to love in response, but Kvitova has other ideas. The former champion hits a forehand winner while facing the wrong way to send the crowd wild.

The Swede does eventually hold, though.

A brief delay as John Millman gets to his feet, and Rafael Nadal picks up where he left off, a stonking forehand marching him into a two set lead.

And he's got there with shots like this...

    Nadal 6-1 5-3 Millman*

Ooh, that'll hurt! John Millman goes haring out to meet a wide shot from Rafael Nadal, slips and ends up flat on his back.

Nadal leans on the net, like a neighbour hovering over the garden fence, to check he's okay.

So, does Slovenian-born Brit Aljaz Bedene command the same support here as the other home players? Yes, sort of... every winner he hits gets a rousing reception and a group of girls to my left started a chorus of "let's go Ali, let's go... "at the last changeover - just a shame it petered out before his name had been mentioned twice.

Mind games is where Nadal is so impressive. It's the way he can leave things behind him and focus, he's relentless in his attitude and application towards every point.

John Millman is more than a little miffed with himself as he lets Rafa Nadal off the hook, handing Nadal an easy hold with a long forehand.

At the changeover, the match referee is called over by Rafa Nadal and the tall, suited gentleman then calls the six ball kids to the net for a word.

All six show their hands to him, rather like a toddler would to a parent after they've been to told to wash them before eating dinner.

One scurries off, think he has blood on them. That means his mate has to follow Rafa across the baseline between points, handing over his towel. I hope she's claiming overtime.

Nadal needs a good wipe of his brow after that mammoth point which ended in another break.

The Wimbers lot love a lengthy rally. The Court One crowd 'ooh' and 'aah ' as it continues before launching into its heartiest applause of the afternoon when Nadal fizzes a forehand down the line.

The Aussie Fanatics have woken up, as some superb counter-punching from the back of the court allows John Millman to break.

Lovely work there, Millman pushing Nadal in the rally, and there's a big fist pump and yell as Nadal sends a forehand sailing out of play.

Some people will do anything to try and get a game of tennis...

Nope, you've not gone into a time machine and woken up in the early 1980s. These three fellas are Pry, Lloyd and Raj, who are all from various parts of England and meet up every year at SW19.

So why the headbands, all whites and racquets? "Because people come for the tennis but also for the experience. So we try to bring a bit of fun," says Lloyd, a Londoner.

And it works. The sharp kit and beaming smiles across their faces attract plenty of photograph hunters.

An almighty rally on Court One, the ball going this way and that, and Nadal unfurls a stunning winner! That ball was going fast, the Spaniard was pushed wide, and he got spin and enough angle on it to hammer down the line.

Superb. It's all going Rafa's way at the minute.

  20. Who's got the biggest serve?published at 16:33 British Summer Time 3 July 2017

Fair to say that Alijaz Bedene's match with giant Croat Ivo Karlovic on the sun-trap that is also known as Court Three is going with serve.

Only three points has gone against either man's high-velocity deliveries in the first five games, and the Slovenian-born Brit is definitely holding his own. Karlovic's serve is the biggest, though.
