Novak is doing a real smart thing, hitting behind Gulbis and forcing him to stop and turn back, which can be painful, especially when the ball is out of reach.

    Gulbis 4-6 1-6 2-2 Djokovic

Gulbis is not moving too well again, the merits of that pre-set medical timeout may well be wearing off.

Novak is making him move around too, pinging the ball to either side as he holds to 15.

Can anyone provide an answer? I have no idea. Imperfections? Just a gut feeling?

PLEASE can you tell me what tennis players are looking at when picking a ball to serve with?? I've always wondered and never known...

    Gulbis 4-6 1-6 2-1 Djokovic

Proper shot that, Gulbis battering a backhand down the line to open up the third game. But what a shot that is! Novak had no right to reach a deep volley into the corner, never mind to be able to shovel the ball back home for a point of his own.

    Phenomenal athleticism. Gulbis holds though.

    Gulbis 4-6 1-6 1-1 Djokovic

That delay may have taken the shine off Novak Djokovic, who has started the set a touch sloppily. Gulbis wins the first six points of the set. Can he break?

    Here's a chance. 30-40.

Djoko saves one with a neat backhand winner at the net before wrong-footing Gulbis with a whipped winner the other way.

    Hold.

  14. Game and second set - Wozniackipublished at 17:15 British Summer Time 8 July 2017

    Kontaveit 6-3 6-7 (3-7) Wozniacki

Caroline Wozniacki isn't giving up over on Court One.

She was 5-4 down and faced with Anett Kontaveit serving for the set, but the fifth seed has held her nerve to win the second set tie-break.

She's got the ice towel thrown across her shoulders as the two players take a breather before the deciding set.

    Gulbis 4-6 1-6 1-0 Djokovic

Before I was aware of the existence of, and global popularity of, the TV show 'House', I was in Madrid and totally bemused by the presence of a 45-foot high billboard of Hugh Laurie's face. I never knew Blackadder was so big in Spain.

Anyway, that medical timeout has done Gulbis the world of good as he clatters through his opening service game.
