  1. Federer continues to dominatepublished at 15:25 British Summer Time 16 July 2017

    Federer 6-3 6-1 1-1 Cilic

Andrew Castle, our man in the TV comms box, reckons Marin Cilic will be a little embarrassed after the waterworks earlier.

I know what he means. I felt like that after I broke down in front of an ex-girlfriend when she dumped me. It was the hangover. Honest.

Anyway.. the tennis. The Federer serve continues to dominate, Cilic now having won just NINE receiving points in the past hour and 10 minutes

    Boris Becker
Three-time Wimbledon champion on BBC TV

Marin Cilic has got to focus on tennis again, concentrate on putting the balls in play.

That's in the past, he can only change the present. Roger Federer doesn't make it easy for him, obviously, he can smell it.

The crowd are doing their best to gee up Cilic. I mean, you don't pay the price of a month's rent for a Centre Court ticket to see a one-sided match.

Cilic responds with a comfortable service game, only one Federer winner bothering him, the Swiss batting a backhand into the net from a second serve on game point.

Here's that second set in snazzy, graphical nutshell.

100% second serve points won - total Federer dominance.

  6. Watch: Cilic's physical/emotional strugglespublished at 15:18 British Summer Time 16 July 2017

Marin Cilic appears to struggle physically between games and breaks into tears. That's how much it means. He recovers and plays on but how fit is he?

    Federer 6-3 6-1 Cilic

Confused chatter fills the Centre Court air as Marin Cilic takes a medical timeout. Seems to be a problem with his left foot.

Trainer pulled off, sock rolled down, strapping applied.

Ewww. I'm not a fan of feet. A chiropodist on the tennis tour must earn a pretty penny though. Especially judging by Cilic's cracked tootsies.

I think this says a lot about how one sided this match has become, and how the crowd out here know which way it is heading.

Federer goes two sets up on his way to a record eighth Wimbledon title, and polite applause is the best way to describe the reaction.

    No. Mercy.

Federer wraps up the second set in the blink of an eye. Sealed with an ace.

The Swiss maestro has three set points, he needs just the one as he bounds a blistering serve down the middle.

  11. 'Cilic looks completely lost'published at 15:11 British Summer Time 16 July 2017

    Tim Henman
Former British number one on BBC TV

It's the fastest serve of the match, of his tournament, at 134mph from Marin Cilic, but Roger Federer sticks out a racquet and it comes back with interest.

Cilic is walking around in front of our commentary box. During his career he has dealt well with the nerves, but he is looking completely lost out there.

  12. Federer breaks Cilic's serve againpublished at 15:11 British Summer Time 16 July 2017

    *Federer 6-3 5-1 Cilic

Maybe Cilic is playing the sympathy card. It could be a tactical masterstroke. Get the crowd onside, ramp up the pressure on your opponent.

    I don't think that's his plan.

A better plan would be finding his service game. He's got an eye-watering low first serve percentage of 55% - and he's under the pump again.

Another Cilic service game, another Federer break point. Bang! Federer gobbles it up after a poor volley from the Croat.

A few people out here are feeling a bit sorry for Marin Cilic now. Definitely more applause and even cheering for him since that injury break... although that doesn't include the people wearing Federer T-shirts, obviously.

Three-time Wimbledon champion on BBC TV

Maybe Marin Cilic is just going through an emotional rollercoaster? That's what this court does to you. You can't say you don't feel good right now, everyone across the world is watching you.

All those people in Croatia are on their feet. He has done so well so far. It looks like he's recovered a little bit, he's got his feet on the ground again.

  18. Routine hold for Federerpublished at 15:05 British Summer Time 16 July 2017

    Federer 6-3 4-1 Cilic*

If a tennis great like Pat Cash has got no idea what's going on with Cilic, then I haven't a hope of knowing.

Cilic's movement doesn't look too bad, but his strokes are certainly lacking power. I think his head has gone.

Federer rattles off four points on the bounce to hold, Cilic forlornly knocking a forehand long.
