What a spectacular Wimbledon singles competition so far for British 22-year-old Harriet Dart.

The London-based player has managed to go two stages further than she did on her debut last year.

After seeing off Christina McHale and Beatriz Haddad Maia she now faces an Australian by the name of Ashleigh Barty, who happens to be the French Open champion and world number one.

We get under way on Centre Court shortly.

The Scot will be hoping he can come through this second-round meeting quickly, with his mixed doubles match with Serena Williams due to be played later today.

Kei Nishikori, possibly one of the most unlucky of the top players over the past few years, is two sets to the good against American Steve Johnson.

A gentle reminder that the Japanese eighth seed trailed 3-0 in the first set.

There are a lot of famous sporting stars sitting in the Royal Box today, including current and former cricketers Andrew Strauss, Jimmy Anderson, Eoin Morgan, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow and Stuart Broad, boxers David Haye and Carl Froch, England men's manager Gareth Southgate and midfielder Eric Dier.

Plus there is England netball captain Ama Agbeze, rugby players Jonny May and Maro Itoje, six-time Olympic cycling champion Sir Chris Hoy, and IAAF president Lord Coe.

But it was perhaps this guy, four-time Olympic champion Sir Mo Farah, who attracted the most attention outside the entrance to the Royal Box.

  13. 'Tremendous Kvitova'published at 12:25 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    Linette 3-6 2-6 Kvitova

    Liz Smylie
Former Wimbledon doubles champion on BBC TV

There's going to be quite a few ladies in the top half of this draw that will have seen the way Petra Kvitova played this match today and they will be paying attention.

A tremendous performance, excellent movement, terrific serving, just too many weapons for her opponent today.

She kept the unforced errors to a minimum, she used the court well. She came in to Wimbledon without too many matches under her belt but it didn't look like that today.

The Kvitova serve is popping like a toddler on bubble wrap.

She is a serious proposition for anyone in this draw.

    Linette 3-6 2-6 Kvitova

Petra Kvitova was never really extended.

The Czech has dispatched Magda Linette at maximum speed and with minimum fuss. She is into Monday's fourth round in a hour and 10 minutes.

She will face either Sloane Stephens or Johanna Konta next and you would say on that form she is the favourite against either.

    Linette 3-6 2-5 *Kvitova

    Mayday for Magda!

Linette is 40-0 up and looks set to at least keep within a break of Petra Kvitova.

But she falters within sight of the finishline. Petra Kvitova pounces and the game is lost.

Kvitova serves for the set next.

  18. 'Swiped aside'published at 12:18 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    Linette 3-6 2-4 Kvitova

    Nick Mullins
    BBC Sport commentator at Wimbledon

The frustration for Linette is that she hasn't played that badly.

But she's being swiped aside by Kvitova.

It's tough to think about slice, drop shots and angles when you've got rockets flying at you.

But Petra Kvitova's serve arms is turning over at the pace of a peak Shoaib Akhtar.

She looks like she has it locked down as tight as Fort Knox.

Magda Linette needs to come up with a Goldfinger-style plan and sharpish if she is to extend this match at least to three sets.
