  1. Evans breakspublished at 18:46 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    *Evans 6-4 4-6 2-1 Sousa

    Converted!

Dan Evans moved a break up at the start of the third.

He taps his finger to his temple and shouts "use your brain" to his friends and family up above.

I think it was a message more to himself.

  2. Sousa saves break point, Evans gains anotherpublished at 18:44 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    Evans 6-4 4-6 1-1 *Sousa

Dan Evans chunks a second-serve return into the top of the net to groans.

One break point gone, but here comes a second...

  3. Break point Evanspublished at 18:43 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    Evans 6-4 4-6 1-1 *Sousa

Dan Evans box of conjuring tricks produces a delicious lob that splashes down just inside the baseline for the first point of the game.

Joao Sousa cross-court rip is caught in the top of the net. Break point to the Brit...

  4. Evans holdspublished at 18:41 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    Evans 6-4 4-6 1-1 *Sousa

Joao Sousa is left sprawling after a Dan Evans passing shot proves too sharp for the traction on his trainer soles.

    Federer 7-5 6-2 6-5 *Pouille

Federer keeps his cool, even when confusion reigns over a Hawk-Eye challenge and the umpire's subsequent call, and he just keeps on picking up the points.

The pressure is back on Pouille...

  6. Sousa holdspublished at 18:39 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    *Evans 6-4 4-6 0-1 Sousa

Joao Sousa apologises for a thick net cord midway through a hold to love at the start of the third set.

Evans' mood is pretty dark. He takes a swipe at the changeover chair before walking back to the baseline and telling his players box to keep focused.

"We are still winning," he tells them. Which isn't true on the scoreboard, but it it is good to feel that way after losing six straight games.

    *Federer 7-5 6-2 5-5 Pouille

At 30-30 you might think Pouille will tighten up. Not a chance - he smacks a forehand winner down the line instead - and then goes for the jugular in the next game too. That's a hold, and he is making Fed work to see this one out.

    *Evans 6-4 4-6 Sousa

Dan Evans is hugely frustrated. He's venting at his coaches, chuntering away and shaking his head while trying to chow down on a banana. That's the set that got away, so many chances to go a double break up before being broken in successive games by Joao Sousa.

  10. Game and second set Sousapublished at 18:33 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    *Evans 6-4 4-6 Sousa

This game keeps swinging one and then the next - it's just rolled back in Joao Sousa's favour as Dan Evans drags a forehand wide. Set point, and then disaster for Evans... double fault.

  11. Federer needs one more gamepublished at 18:32 British Summer Time 6 July 2019

    Federer 7-5 6-2 5-4 *Pouille

Just too good from Federer. His forehand has been rock solid today, and it's just given him another couple of winners here. He is a game away from making the last 16 here for the 17th time.

If he does it, and he surely will, that would give him sole ownership of the record for most appearances in the fourth round at Wimbledon. At the moment he shares that record with Jimmy Connors.

    *Evans 6-4 4-5 Sousa

Dan Evans is pumped! He edges to advantage and roars in celebration. Joao Sousa engages him on the next rally, Evans dices a backhand just long and it's deuce again.

    *Evans 6-4 4-5 Sousa

Again Evans comes to the net, again he meets Sousa's backhand head on to volley away from the Portuguese. Deuce.

    *Federer 7-5 6-2 4-4 Pouille

"Pouille is a talented player and he can do all the shots in the book - the question is when and where he plays which shot," says Boris Becker.

He definitely gets the 'when and where' right here - that's a hold to love.

Dan Evans stumbles slightly, but finds his footing to smash away another winner and now Joao Sousa is grumbling to his box. One set point left...

    *Evans 6-4 4-5 Sousa

So, Dan Evans serving to stay in the second set...

Joao Sousa leaps into a smash to make it 0-30 and has won 10 of the last 11 points.

    Uh-oh...

    Federer 7-5 6-2 4-3 *Pouille

Speaking of tactics, Fed is not having things all his own way on serve at the moment but he is targeting the Pouille forehand in his times of need, and that approach is paying off.

Of all the Frenchman's shots, it is down that flank where he is the most inconsistent.

Is today fancy dress day at Wimbledon and nobody told us?

Mark has come dressed as his hero John McEnroe. He says if he ever met him, he would ask if he could play doubles with him. He'll say yes, we're sure.

And while there are plenty of Federer fans inside Centre Court, there are plenty on Henman Hill too! These fans grew up where Roger did in Basel.
