Well, Joao Sousa is hot right now. Suddenly he's full of confidence and Dan Evans can't buy a point. A hold to love for the Portuguese.

*Evans 6-4 4-5 Sousa
Well, Joao Sousa is hot right now. Suddenly he's full of confidence and Dan Evans can't buy a point. A hold to love for the Portuguese.
*Federer 7-5 6-2 3-3 Pouille
You can't fault Pouille's attitude today, or his tactics. He's mixed his game up and kept Federer guessing... at times, anyway.
"Lucas is sometimes trying to outsmart Roger Federer, on grass," says Boris Becker. "Interesting."
It works here. Pouille holds... but he knows any lapse and he will be heading for the locker room.
Evans 6-4 4-4 Sousa*
Joao Sousa will get another crack at the break, sauntering into the net to dispatch a volleyed winner. Dan Evans can't pick up a deep backhand and the Portuguese hits back!
*Evans 6-4 4-3 Sousa
Huge cheers on Court One as Dan Evans staves off the break point.
*Evans 6-4 4-3 Sousa
Trouble for Dan Evans... Joao Sousa has suddenly found his range, and a first break point.
*Evans 6-4 4-3 Sousa
Too good from Joao Sousa as he pounces with a forehand winner that's beyond Dan Evans in a flash. Another slapped winner down the other edge of Evans' court makes it 30-30.
Federer 7-5 6-2 3-2 *Pouille
Pouille is not afraid to go toe-to-toe with Fed and, occasionally, that strategy works.
The Frenchman has got some shots in his locker too, and he is not going to go quietly... but he has not come close to breaking the Swiss since he had that brief revival in the second set.

*Evans 6-4 4-3 Sousa
Joao Sousa puffs out his cheeks. He's struggling to hold on every serve as his error count reaches 24 for the match. Eventually the Portuguese gets the better of Dan Evans to cling on in the second set.
*Federer 7-5 6-2 2-2 Pouille
It seems there is no pleasing Boris Becker, even when Pouille moves 40-0 up...
"Even when Pouille wins the points, for my tastes it is a bit quick," is the verdict from the BBC commentary box.
Pouille holds, but Federer is in total command.

Evans 6-4 4-2 Sousa*
Joao Sousa punches a sloppy forehand into the tramlines. Another chance for Dan Evans to break. He keeps teeing them up...
Evans 6-4 4-2 Sousa*
Long, just! So close for Dan Evans with Joao Sousa on the ropes. Can't have been much in it.
Deuce.
Evans 6-4 4-2 Sousa*
Joao Sousa gives Dan Evans a taste of his own medicine, forcing the British number three to stretch unsuccessfully for a fizzing forehand. But Evans unleashes a mammoth return off the Portuguese's next serve and that's break point.

Dan Evans must be a neat and tidy person... he seemed to ask the ball boy to straighten the towel that was crumpled on the chair behind the baseline.
(Dan, you did just leave it in a heap there yourself)
Federer 7-5 6-2 2-1 *Pouille
Pouille is definitely enjoying this, even when luck is on Federer's side with a net-cord winner. He is still smiling, and still going for his shots too... but he will need a minor miracle to turn this around from here.
Evans 6-4 4-2 Sousa*
It's almost cruel! Joao Sousa turns one way and then the next desperately trying to keep tabs on which way Dan Evans will go next. Mini-break for the Brit at 15-30.
Evans 6-4 4-2 Sousa*
Dan Evans is giving Joao Sousa the runaround. Working the Portuguese across the baseline like he's doing shuttles. Another good hold for the Brit.
*Federer 7-5 6-2 1-1 Pouille
More spectacular stuff from Federer, including another fantastic forehand winner, but Pouille is hanging in there, even though every point is a project for him.
*Evans 6-4 3-2 Sousa
Joao Sousa holds. Good scrambling from the Portuguese, and lots of longing glances towards his box.
