  1. Break point Evanspublished at 00:07 British Summer Time 4 September 2020

    Evans 6-4 3-6 5-5 Moutet*

Chance Evans! Moutet weakly knocks a backhand into the net to give the Brit a break point.

Oh Dan! Even Anne Keothavong gaps on the TV coverage as she watches Evans push an overly-keen forehand wide.

    Deuce...

    Evans 6-4 3-6 5-5 Moutet*

Tell you what, it is a shame nobody (expect for the lucky few in the bubble) is there to watch this.

An entertaining duo to say the least. Another fun point see almost the full house (wicked slices, lobs, overheads) as Moutet takes control of the game.

But then Evans fights back for deuce...

  3. 'Moutet will make the top 20'published at 00:02 British Summer Time 4 September 2020

I think Moutet will win plenty of titles. For sure he'll make the top 20, but he might be a top 20 player that has a couple of good weeks.

So, scoreboard pressure back on Evans. A drive volley, of sorts, puts the 23rd seed 30-15 in front and he ramps up the aggression further on the next point.

With Moutet pinned back almost as far as the ball person, Evans sticks away a smash and cleans up the hold.

    *Evans 6-4 3-6 4-5 Moutet

First, Evans needs a bit of treatment. Some claret spilling it seems. Looks like it might be from a graze following that mid-rally stumble in the eighth game of the set.

A simple hold is what Corentin Moutet needs. That's what he gets.

Evans to serve to stay in the set...

  7. 'It seems Evans is distracted by his leg'published at 23:55 British Summer Time 3 September 2020

    Naomi Cavaday
BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra tennis commentator

It's tough to tell what will happen next. They are both playing well, but it seems Evans is distracted by his leg more than it's actually hindering him.

    Evans 6-4 3-6 4-4 Moutet*

Evans rests his head and body on the canvas behind the baseline after Moutet puts away an overhead. It's that sort of game.

Moutet finally the break at the fourth time of asking as Evans rushes a backhand down the line.

    Three breaks on the bounce.

Also worth noting Evans managed to get up off his backside after stacking it in that point.

  10. Postpublished at 23:52 British Summer Time 3 September 2020

    *Evans 6-4 3-6 4-3 Moutet

A second chance for Moutet thanks to a backhand passing winner... can he take it this time? Nope. Evans scrambles in another entertaining point, Moutet unable to pick up a low sliced backhand.

  11. Postpublished at 23:49 British Summer Time 3 September 2020

    *Evans 6-4 3-6 4-3 Moutet

Blimey. Moutet glides round the court quicker than Brendan Cole does the dancefloor.

The Frenchman earns a break point with some fleet of foot to force Evans long with a volley.

But Evans dances the fandango to swipe it back with a 91mph forehand winner... deuce.

    *Evans 6-4 3-6 4-3 Moutet

Right then Evo, can you back that up?

So far so good as he moves 30-0 in front before Moutet shows his quality with a double-handed backhand lob.

Then Evans sticks a forehand long - so way long, actually, it was almost by the ball person's feet - for 30-30. Edgy...

  13. 'Evans was so sharp'published at 23:45 British Summer Time 3 September 2020

    Naomi Cavaday
BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra tennis commentator

That's my favourite point of match so far. Evans was so sharp with his movement.

  14. Evans breakspublished at 23:45 British Summer Time 3 September 2020

    *Evans 6-4 3-6 4-3 Moutet

Evans puts that behind him quickly and nabs the break back. A great point to clinch it too as the British number one shows great skill and athleticism to put away a stretching backhand volley.

Blimey, didn't realise Evans had thrown in that many double faults.

  16. 'Double faults have been costly for Evans'published at 23:39 British Summer Time 3 September 2020

    Naomi Cavaday
BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra tennis commentator

It's frustration from Evans - we've seen seven double-faults that have been costly.

  17. Moutet breakspublished at 23:38 British Summer Time 3 September 2020

    Evans 6-4 3-6 3-3 Moutet*

Back to court five... Evans throws in a double with an aggressive second serve. Not great timing.

Moutet has a break point. He's taken three of nine so far... make that four out of 10.

Evans serves and volleys but his pick up goes long. As you were...

  18. 'The players are going down to final few seconds'published at 23:37 British Summer Time 3 September 2020

    Naomi Cavaday
BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra tennis commentator

I wouldn't say the serve-clock has been... say harsh... but both of these players are quite fast. They keep going down to the final five seconds on their serves.

  19. Former champ Stephens eases into third roundpublished at 23:35 British Summer Time 3 September 2020

American 2017 champ Sloane Stephens - seeded 26th this year - has cruised through to round three with a 6-2 6-2 win over Olga Govortsova of Belarus.

The 27-year-old could play Serena Williams next. That would be a cracker.

Compatriot Madison Keys, who Stephens defeated in the final three years ago, will play France's Alize Cornet after defeating Spain's Aliona Bolsova 6-2 6-1 out on Court 17.

The floodlights are on... FYI this match is being played on the outside court five, in the shadow of Ashe, which means if it does bucket it down then the players will have to scarper.
