Great winner from an advancing Djokovic.

Here we go.

That was Djokovic at his best. He pointed to his temple as if to say to Medvedev 'you're never going to out-smart me'.
Djokovic 7-5 6-2 5-2 Medvedev*
For all that Medvedev has been disappointing, Djokovic has been excellent.
He taps his head as Medvedev puts a backhand into the net. A game away from another Australian Open title...
Leon Smith
GB Davis Cup captain on BBC Radio 5 Live
Djokovic is so resilient - he does not want to give Medvedev a sniff of getting back into this match.
*Djokovic 7-5 6-2 4-2 Medvedev
Djokovic shuts down that brief glimmer for Medvedev with a great serve out wide.
*Djokovic 7-5 6-2 4-2 Medvedev
How does Djokovic get everything back?! It doesn't make sense!
Still, it's Medvedev who has the crowd on his feet, swinging his racquet to get them to make more noise as he pops a forehand past his opponent.
15-30.
*Djokovic 7-5 6-2 4-2 Medvedev
Ohohoh, behave!
WHAT a shot that is from Djokovic! He's full stretch, running forward and the most outrageous backhand volley slides over the net for a winner.
*Djokovic 7-5 6-2 4-2 Medvedev
On paper, this promised to be such a good match but in reality? What a dud.
A long rally hints at what could have been, Djokovic sliding all over the show before he pushes a backhand just out, and a relieved Medvedev registers a hold.
Leon Smith
GB Davis Cup captain on BBC Radio 5 Live
It's a complete nightmare playing Djkokovic in this mood. And there must be immense disappointment because it's got away from Medvedev so quickly when he was in such a good run of form heading into this match.
Djokovic 7-5 6-2 4-1 Medvedev*
Medvedev is getting look after look at Djokovic's second serve and keeps on slapping his replies long.
He finally gets on the board as he comes forward and draws an error out of Djokovic's backhand, but Medvedev is soon back and chuntering at his support box as he misses a deep shot.
A completely unbothered Djokovic is then gifted a hold with another error from his opponent.
*Djokovic 7-5 6-2 3-1 Medvedev
Relentless from Djokovic, sticking in a rally despite almost falling over, and it's Medvedev who slaps an angry forehand long.
How's that gone over?! Medvedev tries a drop shot, Djokovic volleys it cross-court and despite Medvedev getting less than half the racquet to it, the ball takes a deflection and drops down at Djokovic's feet.
Game, Medvedev.
Djokovic 7-5 6-2 3-0 Medvedev*
Can Medvedev get himself on the board?
Annabel Croft
Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Live
I thought Medvedev would be too embarrassed to behave like this in a Grand Slam final when the tennis world is watching this match.
He has completely imploded.
Djokovic 7-5 6-2 3-0 Medvedev*
The long rallies seemed to favour Medvedev at the start but he's sending errors all over the shop now as he tries to end the points early.
He gets himself to 40-30 as Djokovic nets a backhand, but Medvedev cracks a return of serve into the net to give the Serb another hold.
Leon Smith
GB Davis Cup captain on BBC Radio 5 Live
Djokovic has applied so much pressure it's thrown Medvedev completely off his game. Djokovic is doing a wonderful job here.
*Djokovic 7-5 6-2 2-0 Medvedev
With a feeling of horrible inevitability, Daniil Medvedev puts an easy volley into the net tape, and Novak Djokovic breaks.
Djokovic 7-5 6-2 1-0 Medvedev*
And now Medvedev is break point down with a truly, gobsmackingly bad double fault.
It's barely hit the court...
Djokovic 7-5 6-2 1-0 Medvedev*
Medvedev serves up a horrid double fault of his own to go 15-30 down before he finally makes a forehand as he moves forward for a winner.
A big serve out wide gives him game point, but an unrael return from Djokovic takes us to deuce.
Annabel Croft
Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Live
Djokovic has got to Medvedev psychologically. Medvedev has completely gone to pieces and is showing immaturity the way he keeps chuntering to his box after every point. I think he will regret this. He is not acknowledging the good play of Djokovic.
