Djokovic 7-5 6-2 1-0 Medvedev*
Daniil Medvedev needs to regroup, and quickly, because after a good first set this has been deeply underwhelming.
Djokovic 7-5 6-2 1-0 Medvedev*
Great shot down the line from Djokovic, and Medvedev can't return it cleanly.
Medvedev has another huge swipe at the floor with his racquet - I wonder how many spares he has in case this one goes the same way as the other - and he sends another backhand long to hand Djokovic a very easy hold.

Djokovic picks an excellent time to relocate his first serve.
Hello, deuce.
*Djokovic 7-5 6-2 Medvedev
Djokovic's second serve is not good but Medvedev is still leaking errors left, right and centre.
This time it's a long forehand that takes us to 30-40.
*Djokovic 7-5 6-2 Medvedev
Medvedev is looking increasingly grumpy - by which I mean, he's genuinely fuming - but he's got two break points as Djokovic's arm completely collapses on his second serve...
*Djokovic 7-5 6-2 Medvedev
Novak Djokovic double-faults first up before some outrageous stretching from the defending champ is to no avail as Daniil Medvedev hammers a forehand past him.
A whistling ace gets Djokovic to 15-30.

Novak Djokovic will serve to start this third -and possibly final - set.

Medvedev is banging another racquet into the ground. He is steaming, fuming and emotionally all over the place.
He needs to settle down and get back to the tennis of the first set because if he continues with this attitude he's got no chance.
I am now questioning why I went against Djokovic at the start of this match.
Djokovic 7-5 6-2 Medvedev
Daniil Medvedev has never come back from two sets down to win.
And without wishing to put the mockers on it, he doesn't really look like doing it here...
Djokovic 7-5 6-2 Medvedev
This will take some coming back from Daniil Medvedev.
Novak Djokovic, meanwhile, is making his merry way towards a ninth Australian Open title.
Djokovic 7-5 5-2 Medvedev*
That's one saved with Djokovic unable to return a serve...
Djokovic 7-5 5-2 Medvedev*
Medvedev's mood isn't improved by a horrible forehand that goes out, before he finally passes Djokovic at the net despite a not-so-great drop shot to start.
This is a horrible service game, mind, Medvedev double faulting before handing Djokovic two set points with another long backhand.

The bounce of Medvedev's racquet was pretty close to his head and could have hit him. It could have been dangerous - and pretty embarrassing.
He looks like a child throwing his toys out of the pram. He's like a Monopoly board tipper.
Djokovic 7-5 5-2 Medvedev*
Medvedev was broken when he served to stay in the first set - can he make Djokovic serve this one out?
A truly epic racquet smash, by the way. 8/10.
Djokovic 7-5 5-2 Medvedev*
Oh, Medvedev has absolutely obliterated his racquet after that game!

Just when you think he's feeling pressure Djokovic comes up with a serve like that. It shows his belief.
Djokovic 7-5 5-2 Medvedev*
Advantage Djokovic, thanks to a corker of a serve down the T.
And the world number one wraps up the game as Medvedev bunts a return long. Five of the last six games have gone his way.
Over to you, Daniil.
*Djokovic 7-5 4-2 Medvedev
Djokovic plays some truly terrible smashes, but he's wonderful at the net, batting back everything he can with amazing hand-eye co-ordination before Medvedev nets.
Two big serves take Djokovic to 40-15 but a cross-court ripper from Medvedev is followed by a rare miss from Djokovic.
Hello, deuce. We've not seen you for a while.
*Djokovic 7-5 4-2 Medvedev
That's a very good, speedy, love hold from Daniil Medvedev.

That's the first sign of Medvedev's body language looking a bit negative.
Djokovic is looking tall, chest puffed out like a peacock displaying his feathers.
