    Kecmanovic 1-6 6-3 3-1 Evans*

The best rally of the match sees Evans somehow manage to get back to return a lobbed shot but he can't make the follow-up and Kecmanovic makes it 30-30.

Determined to capitalise on deuce, Evans produces an excellent forehand winner to take back one of the Serb's breaks.

Evans lets out a huge cheer. Could that prove to be a big moment for the Brit?

Evans just needs to do something to wrestle some momentum back, to get back in touch. Kecmanovic is a bit of a runaway train at the moment.

Dan Evans has been continually unhappy with movements in the crowd.

The fans are close to the court - this is one of those intimate courts.

It's challenging but Evans is letting it get under his skin.

    Kecmanovic* 1-6 6-3 3-0 Evans

Evans looks like he has control on serve, moving 40-15 ahead.

But Kecmanovic reminds us of his growing confidence with another deadly forehand winner before smashing a volley. Deuce.

Evans recovers a break point, but Kecmanovic beats the Briton with a backhand down the line to set up another.

Chance taken. Kecmanovic breaks serve for a second time in set three. His supporters in the crowd enjoyed that.

    Kecmanovic 1-6 6-3 2-0 Evans*

Kecmanovic is working Evans hard here and within six minutes he's already 2-0 up in the third set.

Evans is visibly frustrated with the crowd disruptions, but he has to keep calm if he's going to ensure this third set doesn't away from him.

An important service game for the Brit coming up...

    Kecmanovic* 1-6 6-3 1-0 Evans

More unrest in the crowd. Maybe Evans would prefer empty seats after all...

On court. Kecmanovic goes 30-0, and it gets worse for Evans as he slices a shot well wide to hand over three break points at the start of the third set.

The Serb produces a stunning, sliced winner at the first attempt.

Evans is up against it already.

    Kecmanovic 1-6 6-3 0-0 Evans*

It looks rather warm out on court six. This is certainly heating up nicely.

Evans gets the third set started.

  8. Thiem wins first setpublished at 13:27 British Summer Time 30 May 2021

    Andujar 4-6 Thiem

Over on Phillippe Chatrier, a very sharp-looking Dominic Thiem is in control in his match over Spain's Pablo Andujar, winning the first set 6-4.

The two-time French Open finalist broke Andujar's serve immediately, before a set of quality play from both players.

  9. Game and second set - Kecmanovicpublished at 13:26 British Summer Time 30 May 2021

    Kecmanovic 1-6 6-3 0-0 Evans*

The second set goes to the Serb. Deservedly so.

Evans finds the net, handing the 21-year-old three set points but he only needs one.

Evans could have a real fight on his hands now!

    Kecmanovic* 1-6 5-3 Evans

Evans, serving to stay in the set, doesn't make an ideal start as he finds the tramlines.

But he battles back and Kecmanovic hits the net in trying to rescue a sliced backhand to give Evans 40-30.

A huge forehand rounds things off for the British number one and Kecmanovic will be forced to serve out the set...

    Kecmanovic 1-6 5-2 Evans*

Not for the first time today, Evans is unhappy with movement in the crowd.

Still, it's so much better than an empty stadium!

Kecmanovic goes long to hand Evans a point at 40-15, but that's as much as he's giving away this time around. Another solid service game by the Serb takes him one game away from the second set.

  13. 'Different mindset now'published at 13:15 British Summer Time 30 May 2021

    Laura Robson
Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Live

Mindset can be different on the men's matches because you know you've got a best of five.

    Kecmanovic* 1-6 4-2 Evans

The shift in momentum in this match is clear for all to see as Kecmanovic powers a shot down the line to kill a baseline rally and move 30-15 up on Evans' serve.

Evans responds, as he must, dragging himself level before Kecmanovic finds the net - but he is unable to recover a deep shot by the Serb, bringing us to deuce.

A superb pick up by Evans at the net saves break-point and after a sweeping forehand the Briton is able to see out the game. Game on.

    Kecmanovic 1-6 4-1 Evans*

This is a very different challenge now for Evans.

Kecmanovic has found his groove, especially on serve. He takes a 40-0 lead, and though Evans is able to find a winner it is the Serb who has control of this at the moment.

He has no problem seeing out another game. 4-1 in the second set.

    Kecmanovic* 1-6 3-1 Evans

Kecmanovic gives Evans a bit of a taste of his own medicine there, moving the Brit around the court before beating him with a drop shot to move 30-15.

Evans pulls level before letting a long shot drop over his head, which the umpire has to come down to check. Yep, it's out. Just.

And Evans completes his recovery to get on the board in the second set.

    Kecmanovic 1-6 3-0 Evans*

    Well, well, well.

It was all going so smoothly for Dan Evans but he has a real fight on his hands if he is to save this second set.

Miomir Kecmanovic has upped his level after a sluggish start and swiftly moves into a 3-0 lead.

Can Evans respond on serve here?

    Kecmanovic 1-6 2-0 Evans*

    Jonathan Jurejko
    BBC Sport tennis writer

Not sure why Miomir Kecmanovic was so delayed at the start of the match, but if it was deliberate tactic - and I'm not saying that's the case - it certainly didn't benefit him.

Dan Evans was also made to wait by Novak Djokovic when they met in Monte Carlo, going on to beat the world number one and saying afterwards the move fired him up "a little extra".

Perhaps Djokovic should have warned his fellow Serb not to keep Evans waiting...
