    Naomi Broady

The improvements they have made here have been amazing. I do think it was lacking as a slam behind the others, through no fault of their own - with needing planning permission.

The facilities are amazing - especially the 'nap' room - a quiet zone which will be handy at times like this for players.

  16. Mixed reaction to Wimbledon decisionpublished at 13:01 British Summer Time 23 May 2022

    Jonathan Jurejko
    BBC Sport at Roland Garros

One of the major talking points here has, unsurprisingly, been the decision by the ATP and WTA to strip Wimbledon of is ranking points.

Reaction to the decision from the players has been mixed.

British men's number one Cameron Norrie said he was "very disappointed" by the decision and feared the Grand Slam would become like an exhibition.

"I'd have liked points there. It is tough as a Brit playing in my home Slam and not being able to fight for ranking points," said the world number 11.

However, American player Sloane Stephens says it is the correct move.

"The decision that's been taken obviously wasn't taken lightly. I think when you are backed into a corner and that's all you can do," said the 2017 US Open champion.

"I think that's why the decision was made, and I support it."

  17. Game and first set - Krejcikovapublished at 12:59 British Summer Time 23 May 2022

    Krejcikova 6-1 0-0 Parry*

Defending champion Barbora Krejcikova holds to take the opening set with minimal fuss.

There were promising signs for Diane Parry towards the end of the set, taking the world number two to deuce in the final game, but on the whole she has been a clear second-best.

Krejcikova, who did see her serve broken in one loose game, is yet to look troubled under the roof on Philippe Chatrier.

  18. 'Norrie plays with his foot to the floor'published at 12:55 British Summer Time 23 May 2022

    Norrie v Guinard

    David Law
Commentator on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

Cameron Norrie is somebody who plays with his foot to the floor most of the time, and he's playing most weeks.

He's the most astonishing athlete but I do wonder whether he needs to re-think that long term, to get that extra edge at the Grand Slams.

He is becoming a horrible player to face in a draw.
