Any of Novak Djokovic’s rivals who hoped his record-breaking 23rd men’s Grand Slam in Paris might have satiated his appetite for glory will have to think again.

While that milestone is his, the Serb is still one behind Roger Federer on Wimbledon titles - seven to the Swiss player's eight - and he is also hunting a calendar Slam, something he narrowly missed out on in 2021.

"I still feel hungry for success, for more Grand Slams, more achievements in tennis - a few days after Roland Garros, I was already thinking about preparation for grass, what needs to be done," he said.

"A lot of people are coming up to me and congratulating me, reminding me of the historic success. It’s very flattering but at the same time my mind was already directed towards Wimbledon, the next Slam, the next task."

  8. Parry holdspublished at 13:27 British Summer Time 3 July 2023

    *Dart 7-6 (7-4) 0-6 4-5 Parry

After exchanging breaks at the start of the third set, both players have enjoyed some easy games and Parry puts away a forehand to complete another, taking it to 15 for a 5-4 lead.

It all means Harriet Dart must now serve to stay involved. Pressure.

That was very welcome. What a great game for Dart. Really composed, nicely aggressive.

    Dart 7-6 (7-4) 0-6 4-4 Parry*

A booming forehand from Harriet Dart delights the crowd and gets her up and running in game eight, and a minute or two later an ace completes a comfortable love hold.

    Nicely done.

  11. 'Brave call to go against Djokovic for the title'published at 13:22 British Summer Time 3 July 2023

    Djokovic v Cachin

    Russell Fuller
Tennis correspondent on BBC Radio 5 Live

It feels like there is a big gap between Djokovic and Alcaraz on this surface, where they would meet, if they played.

I think it's a huge shame that we don't have a fully fit Nick Kyrgios or Matteo Berrettini, who's been in the final before.

There are dangerous players like Jannik Sinner, Frances Tiafoe would be another one who will fancy his chances on the grass, Sebastian Korda as well.

Anybody who can tell me with conviction that Novak Djokovic is not going to win the title, I want to see your workings in full, because it is a very brave call.

  12. Parry holdspublished at 13:21 British Summer Time 3 July 2023

    *Dart 7-6 (7-4) 0-6 3-4 Parry

A comfortable love hold for Diane Parry now, who makes light work of her latest service game to edge two games from victory.

A massive game coming up for Dart now. The crowd are getting right behind her.

  13. 'Parry getting nervy'published at 13:20 British Summer Time 3 July 2023

    Dart 7-6 (7-4) 0-6 3-3 Parry*

    Jo Durie
Former British number one on BBC TV

It did look a bit unlikely, it looked like Dart was going out of this tournament. But she fights so hard.

I wonder if Parry was getting a bit nervy about finishing this match off.

    *Dart 7-6 (7-4) 0-6 2-3 Parry

    Jo Durie
Former British number one on BBC TV

I like Dart’s attitude. She got irritated and agitated but she used it . She showed her opponent she is still in this match.

But, she has to get that serve sorted, get more serves in.

  17. 'Wind is wreaking havoc with Dart's serve'published at 13:15 British Summer Time 3 July 2023

    *Dart 7-6 (7-4) 0-6 2-3 Parry

    Naomi Cavaday
    BBC Sport tennis commentator

Diane Parry is being the more consistent and the serve for Dart is proving to be a huge issue. I don't think she held serve for about an hour.

I will just say the wind is gusting big time, and it is really wreaking havoc with Dart's serve.
