*Dart 7-6 (7-4) 0-5 Parry
They certainly have, Jess, but at 0-40 you really can't see it!
Three set points for Parry. This has been very impressive indeed.

Well, the cheers in that first set from the crowd have converted to sighs, groans and moans in this second one.
The Brit has probably got to write this set off at this point and go for it again in the third.
Having said that, stranger things have happened.
Strycova 6-1 7-5 Zanevska
The first win of the day - indeed of Wimbledon 2023 - goes to the Czech Republic's Barbora Strycova.
She's taken just 83 minutes to dispose of Belarusian Maryna Zanevska in straight sets on Court Five.
*Dart 7-6 (7-4) 0-5 Parry
It doesn't appear Dart is going to be able to pull off another great escape this time.
Diane Parry is running away with this, quickly moving 5-0 ahead, and we look destined for a deciding set.
Dart 7-6 (7-4) 0-4 Parry*
Can Dart sow a few seeds of doubt in Parry's mind with a break here, or is this first set all but over?
The Briton battles back to 30-30, and a double fault brings her to deuce. A chance.

Dart is starting to cut a very frustrated figure here on court 12, can she convert that into some aggression in the way she is playing?
She's hit a few straight-forward returns into the net now and has a look at the scoreboard with disdain as she loses her serve for the second time in this set.
*Pegula 6-2 4-5 Davis

A drooping Union Jack flaps into life on a flagpole behind a gusty Court Two.
Maybe they should have changed it for the Stars and Stripes.
An all-American match-up between fourth seed Jessica Pegula and Lauren Davis has opened up the action here.
Both players are having a bit of bother with their service games, the breeze not helping their ball toss.
Pegula lost her serve for 5-4 and Davis, who also misjudged a high return darting around in the wind, was unable to get over the line in the next game.
Back on serve.

Chris: For someone who has a decent overall game, Harriet Dart has a woeful serve. Does she actually have a coach, and why aren’t they fixing this? She’s 26 now, hardly a junior. A decent serve improve her world ranking by about 50.
Dart 7-6 (7-4) 0-4 Parry*
Diane Parry has responded impressively to the disappointment of losing the opening set and is looking to ensure she does not repeat the mistakes she made.
With a 3-0 lead proving not enough in set one, the Frenchwoman sets up a break point for a 4-0 lead with a forehand.
Dart saves it with a winner of her own, but when serving for the game the Briton is penalised for a foot fault.
That's greeted by groans from the crowd, and there are even more as Parry uses that as a springboard to clinch a double break.

Once again Harriet Dart finds herself 3-0 down in the early exchanges of this set.
She knows she can do it, having gained some confidence in the opening set, but she's certainly not making things easy for herself.
Dart is not looking comfortable though, I have to say, and there's some frustrated remarks, sighs and shrugs of the shoulders being directed towards her family just to the right of me.
It will be a tough battle back if she can't secure this next game.
The first day of Wimbledon is upon us, and with the 11am start there's already plenty of outer court action for the punters to get stuck into, but here is a reminder of what is coming up first on the show courts - and where the rest of the Brits will be...

*Dart 7-6 (7-4) 0-3 Parry
It's all happening at the start of this second set!
Harriet Dart chases an immediate response, setting up two break points, but she's unable to complete the job.
A composed, sliced backhand from Parry into the open court secures a fourth successive point - and a 3-0 lead.

One of the beauties of Wimbledon is seeing a star where you least expect them.
Scurrying down the side of the outdoor courts towards Court Two - the smaller show-court where fourth seed Jessica Pegula is playing - there is quite the crowd gathered.
There’s not a match. But there is Jannik Sinner, the eighth seed in the men’s draw, having a practice session in the shadow of Centre Court.
The Italian plays inside the cathedral of world tennis later on, taking on Argentina’s Juan Manuel Cerundolo in the third match there on the opening day.

The wind is picking up a little on court 12.
It's still pretty warm when the wind dies down but we've already seen the breeze effecting serving in this match so it could become a factor if it gets worse.
A few people have left their seats now, perhaps heading off to matches on the bigger show-courts but there's still a decent crowd in.

Dart was in a similar predicament in start of the opening set. She will need to battle back in here again.
Rublev 6-3 7-5 Purcell
Max Purcell is giving the umpire a bit of lip, insisting he challenged a service call while the ball was still in play at set point.
Replays show Rublev's serve was just out too.
An Australian injustice over a debatable call about whether a ball was in play or dead... karma?
Rublev 6-3 7-5 Purcell
Michael Emons
BBC Sport at Wimbledon
Max Purcell, the world number 62, was serving for the second set and 5-2 up but seventh seed Andrey Rublev got the break and then turned up the pressure.
With some superb serving, regularly finding first serves between the 125-130mph mark, Rublev won five games on the bounce to take the set and a two-set advantage.
One more and he is in the second round.
Dart 7-6 (7-4) 0-2 Parry*
Having saved a break point, Diane Parry is able to create one for herself.
The difference is, she's able to take it.
A few misses from Harriet Dart open the door and she's facing a very similar start to the first set now.
Without doubt the point of the match so far, and it was a huge one for Harriet Dart.
What a way this was for the Briton to break back for a second time on her way to winning that opening set.
