Matteo Berrettini wins it after 9.30pm, saving the organisers the hassle of having to squeeze in the match tomorrow if it had not been done by the curfew time of 23:00 BST.
If his previous Grand Slam match with Carlos Alcaraz, who he faces on Monday, is anything to go by then he will need the rest day before a potentially epic encounter.
When the two met in the third round of the 2022 Australian Open, the match went five sets and took four hours, 10 minutes before the Italian won it 6-2 7-6 (7-3) 4-6 2-6 7-6 (10-5).
On Alcaraz, Berrettini says: "He is showing who he is. The first time I played him two years ago (in the quarter-finals of a hard-court tournament in Vienna, Austria) I felt this kid was special.
"We've always had great matches."
On being back at Wimbledon, where he reached the final in 2021, Berrettini, unseeded this year, added: "This tournament changed my career, my life, so it's special to be here and I'm really happy."

Wimbledon 2023: World number two Aryna Sabalenka beats Anna Blinkova over straight sets
Zverev 3-6 6-7 (2-7) 6-7 (5-7) Berrettini
Matteo Berrettini on playing just his 17th match of the year:
"I honestly don't know. It feels unbelievable. It is something I didn't think It could happen. It must be something special about this place.
"I love to play here. Last year I missed it and I still didn't heal from that withdrawal. This tournament changed my career, my life and I'm really happy."
On playing six days in a row:
"I spent many days in my days crying about not being able to play. Six days in a row is nothing. I missed playing, I missed competing, and I found extra energy. You guys are unbelievable thank you for the support."
On playing Alcaraz next:
"I don't think I have to say anything about Carlos. The first time I played him I felt this kid is special. But we always had great matches but like I said, I am enjoying every minute. Finally tomorrow I have a day off.
"I don't know if I am going to play - resting, having some pasta and getting ready for Carlos."
Winner Elena Rybakina: "I was going really well and focused from beginning until the end. It was a really long day, thank you as I heard some support and I am looking forward to the next one.
"I knew what to expect. I knew it was going to be a tough one. I am happy that I was focused from the beginning until the end."
On her serve: "My coach has done some adjustments every day. There is always a lot to improve but I am really happy with my serve, it is a big weapon in my game."
On waiting to come in the final match on Centre Court: "I was just waiting, I watched some of the guys and how they played. It was a long day and not easy."

That is hard to stomach for Katie Boulter.
So much so she can't barely manage to wave goodbye to the home fans, apologetically glancing towards the fans who still try their luck for an autograph.
Not tonight, guys.

A packed Court One has been treated to a great night's entertainment as Matteo Berrettini has just beaten 19th seed Alexander Zverev to move into the last 16.
Berrettini, 27, reached the final here in 2021 but could not play in 2022 after testing positive for Covid-19 and is on the march again this year. An ace to seal the win before he stood arms aloft savouring the moment.
He has played every day since Tuesday, with tomorrow off, before he comes back refreshed - with a tough challenge against world number one Carlos Alcaraz.
Berrettini says: "I spent many days crying in my bed, not being able to play so playing five days in a row is easy."

Looks like Rybakina is having one of those rare days when everything is working.
This is a dream performance.

*Boulter 1-6 1-4 Rybakina
A glimmer of hope for Katie Boulter as she makes a good start to this game, winning the first two points as she looks to break Elena Rybakina for the first time.
But great work at the net from Rybakina makes it 30-15 and she takes the next point to level things up.
Boulter 1-6 1-4 Rybakina*
It is looking bleak for Katie Boulter now as Elena Rybakina seals the double break.
Just 46 minutes on the clock and Boulter is going to need to produce something special to stop Rybakina strolling into round four.

Two match points come and go.
The third, however, is on the Matteo Berrettini serve - a serve that has been so reliable and powerful all match.
And he aces it! Of course he does! The 2021 finalist has ousted the 19th seed.

Rybakina has the ability to make this sport look so simple.
Boulter has tried to change her position, and to block serves back. She hasn't got the time to take a swing at it.
