The players are back out on Court One but do not seem happy with the surface.

They are deep in conversation with officials at the net.

And that is now confirmed - no play on the outside courts for the rest of the evening.

It is sounding like there will be no more play on the outside courts tonight so all eyes on One and Centre.

Meanwhile, Billie Jean King is now having a natter with England captain Leah Williamson.

    *Zverev 3-6 4-4 Berrettini

Alexander Zverev is pacing around like a ticked-off tiger off the back of Court One.

But both he and Matteo Berrettini have had enough injury issues that they will only want to resume when it is safe to do so.

Billie Jean King isn't quite so impatient as Jess. She's chatting away and having a grand old time on the edge of the court.

There's a slow clap just started around Centre Court, people are getting impatient.

Bearing in mind too that following this is British number one Katie Boulter. They want to see some action.

Oh no, now a Mexican wave. Can we not.

The umpire has just announced the players will be back on court in 10 minutes. That's ages! Come onnn.

I'm a little surprised how long this delay has taken, but sounds like there could be some movement soon...

England and Arsenal defender Leah Williamson, who is in the Royal box today, has posted on Instagram to congratulate England men's U21's after they won the U21 Euros.

She says she almost screamed when she saw the result but of course, had to keep quiet on Centre Court.

Currently I can see Williamson having a good old chin wag with Billie Jean King and the other Lionesses taking the break as a chance for a photo with the tennis legend.

Wimbledon 2023: Carlos Alcaraz beats Nicolas Jarry to reach last 16 - highlights

Here's what's happened so far on day six at Wimbledon:

    • Third seed Daniil Medvedev came back from a set down against Marton Fucsovics in a 4-6 6-3 6-4 6-4 victory. That set up a meeting with Jiri Lehecka, who withstood a fightback from American 16th seed Tommy Paul to win 6-2 7-6 (7-2) 6-7 (5-7) 6-7 (9-11) 6-2.
    • Greek fifth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, who ended Andy Murray's hopes on Friday, progressed with a 6-4 7-6 (7-5) 6-4 over Laslo Djere, setting up a last-16 meeting with American Christopher Eubanks.

  10. Scores on the (rain-soaked) doorspublished at 19:41 British Summer Time 8 July 2023

The delay gives us time to catch up on what's going on around the courts on this Saturday evening in SW19.

On Centre Court, sixth seed Ons Jabeur is locked at one set all and on serve at 3-2 down to Bianca Andreescu.

Over on Court One, 2021 men's finalist Matteo Berrettini is 6-3 4-4 up on 19th seed Alexander Zverev while on court two, Grigor Dimitrov leads American Frances Tiafoe by two sets to love.

Just before the rain arrived, Madison Keys wrapped up a 6-4 6-1 win over Marta Kostyuk on court 12, where British pair Liam Broady and Jonny O'Mara's doubles match has been halted by the rain two games in.

Don't forget, of course, we still have Great Britain's Katie Boulter still to come on Centre Court tonight as she faces defending champion Elena Rybakina.

Ons Jabeur was trying to gather her things and make a quick dash for it but almost got caught under the cover as the ball kids rushed across court.

I did think it was a strange decision to have the roof off for this one but, hey ho.

    This could make things interesting.

That is my favourite thing at Wimbledon. The umpire chair is on wheels and they have to get the covers on, and they just wheel that umpire right off.

    Play suspended.

  16. Roof closingpublished at 19:29 British Summer Time 8 July 2023

    *Jabeur 3-6 6-3 2-3 Andreescu

We're going to have a bit of a wait now before Jabeur serves to try and level the third set.

The rain has returned and the roof will be closed.

That will only add to the growing tension on Centre Court.

  17. Jabeur breaks backpublished at 19:27 British Summer Time 8 July 2023

    *Jabeur 3-6 6-3 2-3 Andreescu

Ons Jabeur goes in search of an immediate response.

Andreescu gets on the board with a smash for 15-30, but Jabeur will have two chances to break back here...

Double fault! A tough one for Andreescu to take. We're back on serve in the final set.

    Rune 6-3 4-6 3-6 6-4 7-6 (10-8) Davidovich Fokina

    SCENES ON COURT THREE!

Holger Rune collapses flat on his back as he beats Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in a five-set thriller, saving two match points in the process.

Sixth seed Rune was 8-5 down in the final set tiebreak. The Dane got back to 8-8 and then, Davidovich Fokina inexplicably serves underarm giving Rune an easy forehand shot to get to match point, which he duly took.

    Quite stunning.

    *Zverev 3-6 4-4 Berrettini

Still not a sniff of a break of serve on Court One, although Alexander Zverev is complaining about moisture on the court.

Might be a hint of a drizzle but certainly not enough to justify the roof coming on just yet.

Both players have slipped in the past few minutes, though, lending credence to the point Zverev is making - although Berrettini recovered from his slip to actually win that point on the way to another hold.

  20. Andreescu breakspublished at 19:23 British Summer Time 8 July 2023

    Jabeur 3-6 6-3 1-3 Andreescu*

Three break points - but Bianca Andreescu only needs the one as she forces the error from Ona Jabeur to take charge of the deciding set.

That's a big moment. Jabeur has it all to do now!
