    Boulter 1-4 Rybakina*

Ideal start to this game by Katie Boulter as Elena Rybakina's forehand fails to clear the net. She does it again soon after on Boulter's second serve and the Brit leads 30-0.

An ace and it is 40-0 but a double fault and a powerful forehand winner brings Rybakina back into it.

Former British number one on BBC TV

Rybakina has come out of the blocks firing. The difference between the two players - ball speed off their forehand wings.

Boulter is not being given the time to set up and crack her forehand like she wants to.

    *Boulter 1-4 Rybakina

Katie Boulter challenges a call at 40-15 but it is in and Elena Rybakina cements the hold.

    *Boulter 1-3 Rybakina

Katie Boulter comes to the net at 15-0 down and does well to keep the rally alive but a clipped effort down the line bounces off the frame and Elena Rybakina is on course to follow up the break with a hold.

  6. Zverev saves three break pointspublished at 21:12 British Summer Time 8 July 2023

    Zverev 3-6 6-7 (4-7) 4-4 Berrettini*

Alexander Zverev goes missing at completely the wrong time, with unforced errors including a volley into the net and a wide forehand gifting Matteo Berrettini three break points at this crucial juncture of the third set.

But then it's the Italian's turn to err as he wastes all three of them.

A brilliant Berrettini backhand down the line earns a fourth break chance but a Zverev forehand stops him in his tracks before the German goes on to hold. What a hold from 0-40.

Had Berrettini converted any of those break points, he'd have been serving for the match.

    Boulter 1-2 Rybakina*

If Rybakina is firing, and can sustain it, then it's hard to see her not winning this match.

Already she is causing problems for Boulter with her huge first serve.

Boulter served superbly in the previous round, and hit aggressively from the baseline, but you feel Rybakina will be able to withstand the pressure.

Fascinating to see how this pans out.

    *Zverev 3-6 6-7 (4-7) 3-4 Berrettini

A Zverev hold to love. Then a far more eventful game.

The rally of the match is full of forehands, recoveries and is decided by a lovely Berrettini drop shot. Normal service resumed next point with an ace, and another.

But he's still taken to deuce - for the first time since the opening game of the match. He holds with an ace, of course. 13-10 to the Italian now on that score.
