    Jabeur 3-6 6-3 4-4 Andreescu*

Good start by Ons Jabeur with a serve that us unreturnable and she follows that up with another that has too much for Bianca Andreescu, 30-0.

Another winner on her second serve has her on the verge of holding to love, but Andreescu takes the next point before overcooking a return and Jabeur holds.

    Zverev 3-6 6-6 (2-3) Berrettini*

Massive point for Matteo Berrettini, one of the longest rallies of the match goes his way as Alexander Zverev just cannot reach a forehand that the Italian plastered cross court.

    A mini-break for the 2021 runner-up.

Much like the entire second set, the tie-break is going with serve as Matteo Berrettini bangs down a couple of huge serves.

  9. Tie-breakpublished at 20:27 British Summer Time 8 July 2023

    Zverev 3-6 6-6 Berrettini

Always looked likely to go to a breaker, especially on the resumption with neither player taking chances after the enforced delay.

Big challenge by Ons Jabeur. She uses potentially her final one to challenge a line call and it is shown as in by mere millimetres. It is 15-15 on Bianca Andreescu's serve.

    Jabeur 3-6 6-3 3-3 Andreescu*

A third ace of the match and it is game point for Ons Jabeur. Bianca Andreescu manages to return her next serve but Jabeur responds with a shot that is out of her opponent's reach and that feels like an important hold.

Neither player taking any undue risks given the conditions.

Matteo Berrettini would normally have tried to reach a Zverev forehand but he lets it go.

    Holds serve comfortably anyway.

The players are back on Court One but not overly excited by the prospect of play resuming now.

Matteo Berrettini is definitely saying the surface is too slippery, getting an ‘ole’ cheer from the crowd every time he wipes his foot on the grass in an attempt to show it’s still unplayable.

A slow hand clap goes around the crowd in an attempt to speed things up.

But we are ready to go again, with the players warming up. There has just been an announcement at the ground saying play is done for the day on the outside courts, so it is Centre Court and Court One for our Saturday night enjoyment

And it’s pretty much full as this one gets ready to go again.

They are warming up now so hopefully we will have some tennis to report on shortly.
