We have all been wondering when is that spark going to hit and Andreescu will start playing as she was in 2019?

She will turn it around with a little more belief.

  2. Andreescu holds servepublished at 18:25 British Summer Time 8 July 2023

    *Jabeur 2-5 Andreescu

Andreescu is offering Jabeur no encouragement for the time being.

It should really be another love hold for the Canadian, who gets a bit carried away and drops a seemingly straightforward forehand into the net from mid-court.

No bother. She wraps things up on the next point to move a game away from the set.

    Zverev v Berrettini

Alexander Zverev leads the head-to-head 4-1 against Matteo Berrettini but this is the first time they have met at a Grand Slam and on grass.

Both have tasted the heights of a major final - but both lost their only such occasion. Zverev fell to Dominic Thiem in the 2020 US Open final, while Berrettini was beaten by Novak Djokovic in the 2021 Wimbledon final.

Each player missed Wimbledon last year too - Zverev was recovering from ankle surgery while Berrettini was a late withdrawal through Covid.

  4. Jabeur holds servepublished at 18:22 British Summer Time 8 July 2023

    Jabeur 2-4 Andreescu*

Ons Jabeur ensures her situation does not deteriorate any further, a swift love hold of her own keeping her in contention.

But the pressure is on here to make inroads on her opponent's serve.

Interestingly, the roof is off on Centre Court even though the skies above are looking slightly ominous.

This is certainly Ons Jabeur's biggest test of the tournament so far. She brushed past her first two opponents in comfortable straight-sets but finds herself a break down here.

  6. Andreescu holds servepublished at 18:18 British Summer Time 8 July 2023

    *Jabeur 1-4 Andreescu

What a way to back it up, too.

Smart serving from Bianca Andreescu ensures she consolidates that break, a final ace settling a love hold.

The crowd are impressed. Ons Jabeur was a clear favourite for this, but she's got a lot of thinking to do here...

The Wimbledon weather has affected few players more than the men who meet in Court One's final match on Saturday - with the players beginning their warm-ups as we speak.

Italian Matteo Berrettini, the 2021 beaten finalist, is playing for the fifth consecutive day here, with his first-round victory over Lorenzo Sonego lasting from Tuesday to Thursday, before he recorded an impressive win against Alex de Minaur on Friday.

The rain meant Germany's Alexander Zverev did not get his Wimbledon campaign underway until Thursday and this will be his third straight with a full match after victories against qualifier Gijs Brouwer and lucky loser Yosuke Watanuki.

Court One, of course, has a roof - so the players, for once, don't have the threat of a major rain delay to affect their pre-match preparations.

Bianca Andreescu is really fired up for this.

Ons Jabeur bats away a couple of forehand winners to take charge on serve, but Andreescu sticks to her task - and she has her reward!

The Canadian takes advantage of a few misses from Jabeur, with a lovely backhand helping her make the first breakthrough on Centre.

  9. 'Both will try and rush the other'published at 18:14 British Summer Time 8 July 2023

    *Jabeur 1-2 Andreescu

    Tracy Austin
Two-time Grand Slam champion on BBC TV

Both of them will be thinking the same thing - trying to rush their opponents. Andreescu is getting used to the grass. She'll get there, but she's still relatively new to the surface.

    *Davidovich Fokina 3-6 6-4 6-3 4-6 0-0 Rune

We're going into a fifth set on Court Three!

Holger Rune, 20, has levelled this third round match against 24-year-old Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.

The man who takes the fifth will play the winner of France Tiafoe and Grigor Dimitrov in what is quite a fun section of the draw.

    *Jabeur 1-2 Andreescu

Ons Jabeur is always great fun to watch. You never quite know what's coming next.

She darts across the baseline and cuts down into a forehand, getting the perfect amount of slice to ensure the ball glides past Bianca Andreescu and kisses the line.

But Andreescu looks really up for this challenge and continues her good start, a big 'Come on' greeting a miss from Jabeur which seals another hold at the start of this match.

Aryna Sabalenka on her win against Anna Blinkova: "It was a tough game, she played really well. I am super happy I was able to win it, thanks for all the support and the atmosphere. You make this very special."

On a battle in one of the games in the second set when it went to deuce several times: "It was like a nightmare, it was a tough game. Somehow I managed to finish that game with a win, but it was crazy and I was super happy to handle myself in it."

On facing Ekaterina Alexandrova next: "I played her a couple of times, very aggressive player and I am looking forward to it."

  13. Jabeur holds servepublished at 18:07 British Summer Time 8 July 2023

    Jabeur 1-1 Andreescu*

Ons Jabeur, making her return to Centre Court for the first time since defeat in last year's final, took just 45 minutes to get past Bai Zhuoxuan yesterday.

She's unlikely to find things as simple today, but she makes a solid start with a comfortable hold to 15.

  14. Andreescu holds servepublished at 18:04 British Summer Time 8 July 2023

    *Jabeur 0-1 Andreescu

It's Bianca Andreescu who will get things back under way on Centre Court.

Ons Jabeur begins on the front foot, reaching deuce to test the early nerves of her opponent, but Andreescu holds firm to take the first game of what should be a great contest.

Ons Jabeur is out warming up on Cntre Court following that victory for Carlos Alcaraz, as she continues her bid to go one better than last year at Wimbledon, when she finished runner-up to Elena Rybakina.

The trailblazing Tunisian, who became the first Arab player to reach a Grand Slam final before going on to match that achievement at the 2022 US Open, meets 2019 US Open champion Bianca Andreescu next on Centre Court for a place in the last 16.

Jabeur, seeded sixth, has recorded two comfortable straight-set wins so far at the All England Club in 2023, but is likely to face a much tougher challenge against Canadian 23-year-old Andreescu.

    *Blinkova 2-6 2-5 Sabalenka

Aryna Sabalenka finally gets the job done, despite Anna Blinkova's best efforts to stay with her.

A tough one to take for Blinkova having had four break points but Sabalenka is a game away from a place in the fourth round.

Blinkova is serving to stay in this.

  20. Postpublished at 17:49 British Summer Time 8 July 2023

    *Blinkova 2-6 2-4 Sabalenka

A fourth break point for Anna Blinkova as Aryna Sabalenka unsuccessfully challenges a line call but it is deja vu as Sabalenka saves it again.

An ace by the world number two and it is advantage but she then sends a return into the net and back we go to deuce.

The crowd are loving this as we go back and forth, both giving their all.
