Georgina Thorburn on Twitter:, external "The Winter Olympics has been the highlight of my holidays, I think I have learned more about curling than I have biology!"
Curling isn't what it used to be. Back in 1924, when Britain's men won curling gold at the Winter Olympics, brooms were brooms and plus four trousers were plus four trousers. Those who know their curling history don't need me to tell them that it was only in 2006 that the results of the 1924 Games were declared official, which meant Scottish father and son Willie and Lawrence Jackson and Robin Welsh and Tom Murray all died without knowing they had won a full Olympic title.
"I struggled on the first few ends," captain Eve Muirhead told BBC Sport after the defeat by Switzerland. "We are not down and out - we have two games to go. We need to stay relaxed and come out and enjoy it against Russia and Denmark."
Russia, by the way, have been reined in by the Swedes, despite the partisan crowd's best efforts to put Maria Prytz's team off their game by blowing horns and whooping and causing a right old hullabaloo. Tense times in the Curling Centre with the score 3-3 mid-way through end nine.
Britain's women, of course, aren't competing today because they had to slug it out twice on Saturday, first beating South Korea and then tumbling to defeat against Switzerland. The 8-6 loss to the Swiss means the reigning world champions will need to win both their matches on Monday - against Russia and Denmark - to guarantee a place in the semi-finals.
Hello there! Aimee here taking over from Michael as he trots off for a well-deserved breather. There's plenty of activity on the coast in the Ice Cube Curling Center, as there is every afternoon, although there are no Brits on the ice. Sweden's women are currently attempting to ruin Russia's afternoon but aren't succeeding as they trail 3-2 in end eight.
Zoe Gillings,, external who finished ninth in the snowboard cross this morning said: "I was better on the bottom half than the top half of the course which is unfortunate; obviously it would have been better the other way round.
"My riding style suits the bottom half better, which was bigger and faster than the more technical features above. I definitely want to do another Olympics, no question whatsoever."
There have been numerous inspirational stories at Sochi 2014 of athletes overcoming adversity to compete at the Winter Olympics.
Some have recovered from serious injury, others have made it to Russia despite a lack of funding. But, even by Sochi's standards, British figure skater Nicholas Buckland's story is a remarkable one.
In October, he underwent heart surgery. Today, he and partner Penny Coomes, begin their ice dance campaign, which, maybe, just maybe, might end in winning an Olympic medal.

Here he posts a picture of himself on Facebook, external with compatriot Bjoern Daehlie (left), whose record he can surpass in the 15km mass start this afternoon. The event begins at 1500 GMT.
With Eve Muirhead and David Murdoch and their teams fully occupied in Sochi, it is a chance for others to shine on the Scottish curling scene.
The timing may raise a few eyebrows but the finals of the Scottish Curling Championships are under way in Perth. The women's final has just begun and the men's final begins at 15:00 GMT.

"For the second time in two days it is all gold and glorious for Sweden. There are questions that need to be answered for the Norwegians. I think they looked tired."
Sweden take the cross-country skiing 4x10km gold to defend the title they won in Vancouver four years ago. Russia, with President Vladimir Putin watching on, claim silver, their first medal in this event in more than 20 years, before France cross the line in third place. That is their first ever medal in this competition.

"The Russians have not won a medal in this event for 26 years. They have rested all their key men for this but will need to hang on as the French push past them.
"And what a fantastic two days it could be for Sweden if they take gold. The women won a surprise gold in their event yesterday. There is still a chance that Norway could pick up a third medal as we come into the final stages of the race."
