"Bode Miller was up on all three mid-race splits but, as is his custom, looked close to calamity at times. The American, still searching for a sixth Olympic medal, sets the pace 0.18secs ahead of Peter Fill.

"Max Franz then cuts the gap to 0.07secs and then Strieding shaves it to 0.02secs. They're getting closer. And here's defending champion Aksel Lund Svindal - but he's slow on all the intermediates and goes fourth. Disappointing Games for him so far."

"Bode Miller made a fine start and it was an epic run - although not without errors but will it be enough to give him a medal? There was a massive misjudgement from Ted Ligety and he has blown his chance of a medal. American fans were hoping for better things from him. Christof Innerhofer's race was over before he began."

Rob mentioned Bode Miller was hopeful of winning another medal. He has a great chance and is the man to beat so far. He clocked one minute 18.67 seconds and leads Austria's Otmar Striedinger by 0.02 seconds with another Austrian Max Franz currently in third.

"Welcome to a cloudy Rosa Khutor for the men's super-G. In case you were wondering, the super-G is a speed event but with more turns than a downhill, and not as many as a giant slalom.

"Originally called super giant slalom but that got shortened until it stuck. Norway's Aksel Lund Svindal is the defending champion. Bode Miller is still trying to win that sixth Olympic medal.

"The American has said this week he can't win when the light isn't perfect, as happened in the downhill, and it's a touch overcast. Colder today, too, which should help the snow."
