    Men's freeski halfpipe final

Canadian Noah Bowman is right behind Alex Ferreira. Can he find the extra points he need?

It's not to be! A fourth-placed finish is the best he can hope for with five to go.

    Men's freeski halfpipe final

American Alex Ferreira will look to improve on his third spot next.

It's another solid run but there's no improvement for the 2018 silver medallist. He'll have a nervous wait now to see if he's done enough for a medal.

Miguel Porteous, the older brother of leader Nico, can't put a run together with his final attempt.

Against the odds Gus Kenworthy puts down a run.

It’s a phenomenal achievement to come back out and get his teeth stuck into that.

    Four-man bobsleigh

Great scenes as Team Jamaica complete their opening run of the four-man bobsleigh.

It's the first time in 24 years that Jamaica have fielded a four-man sled at the Olympics and they start with a time of one minute 00.80 seconds.

At the end of the opening runs, Team GB's quartet remain in fifth, 0.47 seconds off the gold medal and 0.22 seconds behind the medals.

Mel: I literally just thought I watched a man die live on TV. How the hell did Gus Kenworthy get up from that brutal smash?

Dawn Wilson: That halfpipe is BRUTAL! And is Gus Kenworthy made of steel?

Quite frankly I'm just happy to see Gus Kenworthy taking his third run after that mammoth hit on his second.

The fact that he's put a run down is a bonus.

It's a clean run! And a score of 71.25 for Gus Kenworthy to complete his Olympics - and his career.

That puts him into eighth place.

I don't know about you guys, but there's absolutely no chance I'd go anywhere near that pipe having watched this final so far. One of those disciplines that you're more than happy to just sit back and admire from afar...

Here comes Nico Porteous. Can he improve on his current lead score of 93.00?

Nope, he can't keep it going. Into the final round we go!

We’ve seen how unforgiving this pipe is.

If you put a normal skier in here, it would be almost impossible to ski.

The moment you touch the walls, the noise alone is terrifying.

Defending champion David Wise hits the deck.

It's another big hit - though not quite on Gus Kenworthy's level - yet he's still smiling at the end of the run. Madness.

Wise stays in second for now with one run left.

    Men’s freeski halfpipe final

    Tyler Harding
Olympic freestyle skier on BBC TV

Nico Porteous is a young prodigy.

That opener wasn’t even his best run.

Those back-to-back 16s are insane - to do that in a halfpipe in these conditions is unreal.

    Men's freeski halfpipe final

No changes to the medal positions so far as the second runs continue to come down. Nico Porteous leads from David Wise and Alex Ferreira.

Can Canadian Noah Bowman, in fourth, shake things up at the top?

It's an improvement, but it's not enough to close the gap to Ferreira!

A score of 86.75 needed to move into the medals at the moment...

I was stood behind the Team USA contingent as Gus Kenworthy took his second run. They had lots of support for their former team-mate - "C'MON GUS" they shouted as he started his run.

There was a huge gasp as he took that massive hit, followed by a huge sigh of relief as he got up. That had to hurt.

A big hit for Gus Kenworthy. The medic is there straight away.

That was awful. That is what the skiers don’t want to see.

In these conditions you just expect people to shatter with that kind of impact.

Over in the four-man bobsleigh, Team GB's opening run of 58.60 seconds is holding up nicely.

Could you imagine that happening to a footballer? They wouldn’t play for nine months after that!

He just gets up and laces a huge flare at the end of his run.

    He is not human.
