Thumbs up if you think the beam looks terrifying?

Flavia Saraiva makes it look easy, however. Fabulous routine by the 24-year-old Brazilian and that surely will be a decent score to add to her tally. It's 14.266 for Saraiva, but is there a question being asked here for the judges to look at?

The reigning all-around champion Sunisa Lee, meanwhile, is on the uneven bars. Team USA are out in force to watch their girls in action - the camera has just spied basketball great Steph Curry in the crowd - and the American scores a 14.866, moving her into fifth place.

Simone Biles is in the bronze medal position, Kaylia Nemour, following a fantastic uneven bars routine, is up to second and Brazil's Rebeca Andrade is leading the way for Paris gold.

Dashing around to make sure you’re set for Andy Murray and Dan Evans?

Don’t fret. You’ve got another hour.

Casper Ruud has levelled his men’s quarter-final against Felix Auger-Alissiame which means there will be a deciding set before the intrepid Brits.

While Ruud and FAA pop off for quick splash of water round the chops, the Roland Garros crowd sing along to a French chanson classic by Joe Dassin.

There was no new skill, but there was a mistake.

Biles has too much momentum in one transition to the lower bar, she rescues it but it will cost her.

She will need to count on her difficulties on her other pieces - but bars is her 'weakest' apparatus so there are some good chances ahead. She is given 13.733 - very rare for her to get under 14. Fair to say there were a lot of gasps.

    Well, fear not. We have.

First of all, we saw Mathilda Hodgkins-Byrne and Rebecca Wilde hold off a late charge from the Netherlands boat to win double sculls bronze.

However, Great Britain's women's four, including two-time gold medallist Helen Glover, were pipped to the Olympic title by the Netherlands boat.

I would say the uneven bars is Simone Biles' least natural piece.

It is an error and although it is not a fall, it will be a fair deduction.

Andrade takes leadpublished at 17:59 British Summer Time 1 August

    Gymnastics - women's all-around final

Rebeca Andrade is going to push Simone Biles all the way for Olympic glory. The uneven bars is next for the Brazil and the score is 14.666.

    Over to you, Simone.

Biles takes a little twitch in the routine and that could mean a deduction from the judges. Hold onto your hats, this competition could get interesting, as Biles is awarded a 13.733.

Andrade takes the lead in this final.

Biles to make history tonight?published at 17:57 British Summer Time 1 August

The best gymnasts in the world may create one skill and it enters the code of points. Simone Biles has five skills named after her. There is only one piece of apparatus that she does not have a skill for which is uneven bars and she has performed it in the past but not at a high level competition. So if she wants in the history books she has to perform in it tonight.

  16. Last chance for Biles to try new bars skill at Gamespublished at 17:55 British Summer Time 1 August

    Gymnastics - women's all-around final

    Sonia Oxley
    BBC Sport in Paris

Simone Biles is on uneven bars next - it's the last chance at these Games for her to try the new skill she has submitted as she hasn't made the individual final on the apparatus.

The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) describes the uneven bars skill as "a clear hip circle forward with one-and-a-half turns to handstand".

In other words, when she starts in a handstand on the upper bar, the American would dip her body to travel around the bar and then rise back into a handstand before doing one and a half pirouettes (540 degrees) and then stop to hold a handstand position.

When are Andy Murray and Dan Evans playing?published at 17:51 British Summer Time 1 August

We might not be too far off...

Murray and Evans are playing fourth on Court Suzanne Lenglen and the preceding match - between Norway's Casper Ruud and Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime in the men's quarter-finals - is delicately poised in the second set.

FAA won the first set and the second is locked on serve at 5-5.

If the Canadian strikes soon, or wins the tie-break, Murray and Evans could be on in about half hour.

If Ruud levels then it will be at least another hour...

There goes the horn to signal to the gymnasts to move around to the next piece of apparatus.

You may remember a few days ago that Brazilian Flavia Saraiva took a nasty fall on the uneven bars during the practice warm-up, resulting in a cut eye.

Well, the 24-year-old has just completed her first rotation on the uneven bars - safely - and scored 13.900.

  20. Biles will 'go stratospheric tonight'published at 17:46 British Summer Time 1 August

    Craig Heap
Commonwealth Games gold-winning gymnast on 5 Live

Simone Biles is absolutely phenomenal and unfortunately we all saw what happened in Tokyo. She got lost in one of the moves, which is very common in gymnastics.

I remember messaging into a group of ex-gymnastics and saying yeah we have all had that. The difference is when you're in your own gym you have plenty of time to recover but when you're at the Olympics you have no time to recover. And she is streets above everyone else! She is nearly two marks ahead of Rebeca Andrade from Brazil. She'll go stratospheric tonight.
