From what I’ve seen today, Team GB are looking good for a pair of medals in the space of five minutes here.

And, whisper it quietly, they could both be gold.

Kimberley Woods goes in the women’s final at 15:55 BST, with Joe Clarke heading off at 16:00.

Joe Clarke is through and Great Britain have got two in the final.

He knows there is still unfinished business and Great Britain have got two great chances of gold with Kimberley Woods and Joe Clarke.

He has won every race he has been in so far. It is his start and how quickly he gets his blades into the water.

It's how deep he goes with those blades. He ahs got massive arms, massive shoulders. He is built like a sprinter like Kimberley woods as well.

He has such an advantage in this event because his raw speed is so good. His technical ability in the event is so good.

Joe Clarke has been meticulous in this preparation (see 15:19 entry) - now it’s time to put the video analysis into practice.

The Brit shoots out of the blocks in his men’s semi-final, gliding round the gates as he leaves his rivals trailing.

There is even time for a clenched fist in the air as he crosses the line way ahead.

Clarke, who is seeking redemption after missing out on selection for Tokyo 2020, is into the men’s final!

Well done Lois, well done. Just when she needed it, it was there. I think that will be enough to get her into the final. It has been a mixed bag out there for her this afternoon but she finishes strongly with that.

Lois Toulson produces her best dive of the afternoon when she needs it the most but is it enough?

Her back two-and-a-half somersaults with one-and-a-half twists scores 65.60 which is good enough for 10th place for now. But with several divers still to go will she pushed out of the top 12?

She will have to wait to find out.

Kimberley Woods has qualified from the semi-final with consummate ease. What a performance and she punches the air.

She is in to the final of the kayak cross. If she finishes top three, she wins a medal and why not.

This is the start of the kayak cross.

A two-metre drop into the water!

Britain’s Kimberley Woods, nearest to the camera, made a quick start in the quarters and hopes to again in the semis.

    They’re off!!

Woods does make another flyer by the look of things and holds off the French favourite Angele Hug to win.

The reigning world champion is into the women’s final.

Stoke's Joe Clarke took canoe slalom K1 gold at Rio 2016 but was not selected by Team GB for Tokyo 2020.

Clarke came out first in his quarter-final earlier and clearly has a point to prove in Paris.

The 31-year-old faces stiff competition in his semi-final with New Zealand's Finn Butcher - a three-time World Cup medallist in kayak cross - for company.

It is better from Lois Toulson. It is really clean but she doesn't quite straighten out fully on the finish. It is not over yet for her, but she is making us squirm in our seats. She is so much better than this, she knows it, we know it. Can she squeak through into the final?

If you’re wondering what the paddlers do in the moments after coming off the water, it might not be what you think.

Joe Clarke, paddle in hand, wanders back round near the start to watch the other men’s quarter-finals on a big screen.

Then he sits in the shade the telly is providing and does some video analysis on his phone.

Fascinating insight into what these Olympians do in their pursuit of greatness.

Spendolini-Sirieix third after four rounds, Toulson on brink of eliminationpublished at 15:17 British Summer Time 5 August

    Women's 10m platform semi-finals

    Jess Anderson
    BBC Sport in Paris

Lois Toulson's inward three-and-a-half somersaults scores 60.80, her best score of the afternoon.

But, reaching the final is looking more and more unlikely here and she will have to produce something special on her final dive.

Meanwhile, it's another good dive from Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix, reverse two-and-a-half somersaults to score 63.000. Not quite the level of her others but that's because it also has a lower degree of difficulty.

After four rounds, Spendolini-Sirieix sits second while Toulson is going to struggle to make the cut sitting down in 16th with one dive to go.

Very good from Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix. Reverse two and a half tuck but not the cleanest of entries, slight over rotation.

She will be pleased that she has left herself some room for improvement for tomorrow's final. She has been very consistent and has dived beautifully so far today, which is what she would have wanted to do.
