Very strong ride from Hayter, especially when you take into account his physical state yesterday.

He will be fifth going into the final event - the points race.

Great riding from Ethan Hayter he's really controlling everything that is happening.

Maximum points for Ethan Hayter of Great Britain as he wins the elimination race of the men's omnium. He was in the lead for most of that race, and never looked in much danger of being the next rider to fall.

Ellie Aldridge was in floods of tears speaking to the BBC following her sensational gold medal for Great Britain in the women's kite final earlier on.

It takes the 27-year-old - who became the inaugural Olympic kite champion by winning two races in the final series - over one minute to try and find the words to describe her incredible achievement.

Ethan Hayter is in the last five of the elimination race, this is a massive boost to his medal hopes.

Hayter riding well here, not giving up that front position.

He wants to keep it all the time, not tempted to take a break.

Ethan Hayter is still there in the elimination race as many others have fallen away and are out. The Briton heading for a healthy points total here, which could see him spring up the rankings from 10th.

The elimination race is going on in the men's omnium at the moment but here's how Ethan Hayter got on in the second of the four events.

It's the third of the four omnium races now - the elimination race.

It's one in which the last rider in each intermediate sprint – which is held every two laps – is eliminated.

This continues until there are two riders left – the winner of the subsequent sprint is the winner of the race.

This will be fun. Can GB's Ethan Hayter make up some points to put himself in a good position going into the points race?

Switzerland's Morgane Metraux shot a six-under 66 on day two to move eight under par and take the halfway lead of the women's golf competition at Le Golf National.

The 27-year-old made an eagle and four birdies in her first six holes and is one shot clear of China's Ruoning Yin, with Tokyo bronze-medallist Lydia Ko of New Zealand at five under par.

Overnight leader Celine Boutier slipped five off Metraux after a disappointing four-over 76.

Meanwhile, Team GB's Charley Hull was 10 shots better than her opening round, carding a one-under 71 to move to eight over par.

Team-mate Georgia Hall is four over after a second straight 74.

Fantastic from Katy Marchant. There will be two Britons in the women's keirin final. She went the long way round in the that last lap but she gets through in second place.

Great Britain have two hopes for a medal in the women's keirin final. Emma Finucane was already there and Katy Marchant has joined her, going around the outside on the last lap to come home second in her semi-final.

Six riders advance to the final, two of them from Great Britain.

Very, very, nervous wait for Emma Finucane, who keeps glancing up at the big screen waiting for the result of the photo finish. She sees Q next to her name and she's qualified for the final in third spot ahead of Steffie van der Peet. Phew!

One Brit is already through to the women's keirin final. Katy Marchant goes in the second semi-final looking to join Emma Finucane in the final.
