A frantic opening round in the semi-final with both Cindy Ngamba and Athenya Bylon slugging it out and both going on the attack.

A looping left hand near the end from Bylon leaves Ngamba off balance, but she stays on her feet. All five judges give the round to Bylon so there is plenty of work for Ngamba, who trains with the GB squad, to do if she is going to keep her gold medal dream alive.

Belief is back among the Americans!

Kevin Durant swishes a three-pointer from the sideline just before he stacks it, the Devin Booker gets in the act too.

Bedlam. Travis Scott is back springing to his feet, so too are Snoop Dogg and Simone Biles higher in the stands.

For the first time in a while we hear that chant which grates ever so slightly for non-Americans...

For the golden few, the sound of a bell ringing is music to the ears.

Athletes who win gold at Paris 2024 will forever leave their mark on the famous city when the Games conclude, as the bell is moving to its new home at Notre Dame when the cathedral's renovations are complete.

Notre Dame was devastated by a fire in 2019 and has been undergoing lengthy renovation work ever since. It will reopen to the public in December.

One house in the Nations Park at Paris 2024 has a particularly contrasting atmosphere to the others.

The mood at Ukraine House is, understandably, sombre and sterner.

Throughout the Games, a host of events are reinforcing how the nation is still facing the same horrors of war which began when Russia launched a full-scale invasion in March 2022.

The Ukrainians' message to the world is simple: 'Please don't forget about us.'

Guest speakers have featured many Olympic athletes competing in Paris, along with Arsenal footballer Oleksandr Zinchenko and world heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk.

Yesterday, there were powerful testimonies from Yuriy Haponchuk, a former army guard whose leg was blown off by a Russian landmine and now part of the Ukrainian amputees' football team, and eight-year-old gymnast Oleksandra Pascal who lost her leg in a Russian attack.

Fencer Olga Kharlan appeared earlier this week with the gold and bronze medals she has won, dedicating them to "all Ukrainian people and all the troops who are defending us".

"Without you, we wouldn't have a country, we wouldn't have a home, we wouldn't have anywhere to come back with these medals," she added.

Team GB's Bradly Sinden speaking to BBC Sport after pulling out of his Taekwondo bronze medal match: "In my second fight, I don't know what I did but I went for a kick and I felt something, I felt a twinge in my knee on my MCL and then carried on in the fight and then felt it go.

"I know what it feels like as I have done it in my right knee before and it's just frustrating. I knew I couldn't do the game plan I wanted in the semi-finals but thought I could give it a good go.

"It was hard and I played a tactical game, I thought it could go my way but just a bit too much in the end.

"We all mind losing and if I could do my full best and lose then I would have 100% in the bronze medal match given it my best for Team GB, but with the injury I didn't think I had it in me to perform my best and bring home that bronze medal so I've taken the tough decision.

"I didn't want to end Paris 2024 like this but sometimes your body has different plans for you."
