Wow! That was a stunning race from the American Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone!

The Tokyo 2020 champion was well clear of the field by the time she reached the straight and as she crosses the line to take the gold medal, she also secures a new world record - 50.37 seconds!

Femke Bol looks gutted with her performance. The Dutch athlete finishes with a bronze medal, and Anna Cockrell adds to the US tally with a silver.

I'm wary of over-hyping this final. But, honestly, this could, and should, be pretty epic.

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and Femke Bol are rarely ever seen on the track at the same time.

They are the two standout athletes of this generation in the event, and all-time. Fans have been waiting an awful long time to witness this showdown.

Half of the Netherlands are here to support Bol as she attempts to take down the world record holder.

USA's Anna Hall is sitting in third place, 99 points adrift of the Great Britain heptathlete.

Here she worked hard around the bend.

I feel then potentially she could have had a little bit of pressure on her knowing what her capabilities are and knowing what was available if she could just nail it right.

There's nothing wrong with this at all. Kat has still got to keep her belief in what she can achieve.

"Nobody wants to go down in history as the team who didn't win it."

NBA has arrived in Paris - kind of.

This US roster is something else and the atmosphere is matching it.

Bercy Arena has turned into Madison Square Garden.

Each superstar is roared out onto the court, starting with Serbia stars Nikola Jokic and Bogdan Bogdanovic, followed by Steph Curry, LeBron James and Kevin Durant.

Oh, that turns when Joel Embiid arrives.

The Cameroon-born centre infamously flirted with playing for France, even going as far as committing to getting nationality.

Then he ditched Les Bleus for the US. The locals haven't forgotten.
