That was smooooooooth - the running, the change overs with baton; compared to the competition, everything was great. A very naïve question maybe, but do Dina Asher-Smith & Daryll Neita come in? None, one, both? I’m sure they do, but that was a great run…

    BBC Sport in Paris

Up next for GB in the taekwondo is Jade Jones against Macedonia's Miljana Reljikj.

Jones is bidding to become the first three-time Olympic champion in the sport's history, having suffered a heartbreaking early defeat in Tokyo three years ago.

She has said that she didn't know how to deal with the expectations on her in Tokyo, and she ultimately took a break from the sport, before moving to Croatia to train under a new coach.

It's borne instant rewards - she won her first Grand Prix event in five years last year, as well as European gold.

Jones was cleared to compete in Paris after it was decided she would not face any sanctions over a doping violation.

She was provisionally suspended after failing to provide a urine sample, but UK Anti-Doping said it had been presented with confidential medical records that showed Jones bore "no fault or negligence for her refusal or failure to submit to her sample collection".

Now can Grace Reid join her in the final?

    You bet she can!

Whereas Yasmin Harper struggled on her final dive and crossed the metaphorical qualification line with a splash, Reid soars through.

It means will be two British women in Friday's 3m springboard final.

Reid progresses as the seventh-best qualifier. Harper's error on the final dive means she scrapes through in 12th.

Once again, China top the standings. Chen Yiwen, the gold medallist from the synchro, qualifies with the best score.

The USA, unsurprisingly, win it comfortably but a messy second changeover meant GB briefly led when Louie Hinchliffe handed over to Richard Kilty.

A solid first leg from Jeremiah Azu as well as his false start nightmare in the individual event.

A painful image for British athletics fans because, of course, the men's 4x100m relay team of CJ Ujah, Zharnel Hughes, Richard Kilty and Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake were stripped of their silver medals three years aog.

That was because a doping violation against Ujah. He was banned for 22 months after testing positive for two prohibited substances at the Tokyo Olympics - but he was cleared of intentionally doping.

Ujah is not in the squad for Paris but Hughes, Kilty and Mitchell-Blake are all back, hoping to avenge the events of the past three years.

With Louie Hinchliffe and Jeremiah Azu also part of the relay team, Hughes - who withdrew from the 200m with a hamstring complaint - is the one to miss out for the heat at least.

Whoever makes up the British quartet, they will go in heat one at 10:35 BST - any moment now, basically...

The USA and South Africa are also in heat one. Top three qualify automatically.
