Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix has a very good chance of winning another Olympic medal this afternoon.

The British teenager finished third in yesterday's semi-final behind Chinese pair Chen Yuxi and Quan Hongchan – who are the favourites.

Spendolini-Sirieix is not content with that and knows she can dive even better, according to her dad Fred.

He says she told him that when they chatted this morning, giving a further insight into her mindset.

"She wants to be the best in the world and is determined to do that," he says.

Will that be today? It'll be tough because of the quality of her Chinese opponents.

These three finished on the podium at the World Championships earlier this year - finishing in the order of Chen, Quan and Spendolini-Sirieix.

    "Anything is possible," concludes Fred.

Will Brown make the final?published at 13:49 British Summer Time 6 August

    Skateboarding - women's park prelims

It's looking good for Sky Brown as her score of 84.75 leaves her fourth in the overall standings.

To miss out, all five of the skaters in the final heat would need to top that, which seems highly unlikely.

Team-mate Lola Tambling's 73.85 puts her in 11th at the moment.

You must have heard of Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix already.

She's the teenage British diver who won bronze alongside Lois Toulson in the women's synchronised 10m platform - and goes for another medal, this time in the 10m platform, shortly.

You've probably heard of her dad, too.

He's Fred Sirieix, the TV personality made famous as the maitre d' in TV show First Dates.

Fred, who has been working for BBC Sport at Paris 2024, is sat next to me in the Aquatics Centre as he watches Andrea warming up across the pool.

It's quite the day. First Dates starts back on television screens in the UK later.

"I'm not nervous today," Fred says. "About the diving or the new series!"

Oof ouch, Sky Brown has come off her board on her final round and landed on her shoulder. The one she dislocated before the Olympics.

After a brief look of concern, she gets to her feet and skates off, that signature smile on her face.

Her score of 84.75 should see her safely to the final (at 16:30 BST). Let's hope she's not suffering any ill effects from that fall in three hours' time.

She waves to the crowd - it was still a fine performance.

It's going to be a nailbiting next hour for Australia's Arisa Trew as her final run ends on her knees.

Ranked second in the world and one of the favourites, she's in fifth thanks to that 82.95 in round two.

    Will it be enough?

At around 13:45 BST, we'll be heading over to the pool for the women's 10m platform final, with Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix competing for Great Britain.

The 19-year-old already has a bronze to her name after her synchro with Lois Toulson, who didn't reach today's final.

Spendolini-Sirieix qualified in third and will be the 10th diver to perform out of 12 finalists - they complete five dives each.

Off goes Sky Brown for round two - can she use that final 10 seconds to nail her score?

No! An otherwise beautifully clean run comes unstuck on a final frontside stalefish and she slides to her knees.

    She'll stay in fourth overall.

Some serious speed for Lola Tambling and it looks better than her first run only for her to come crunching down halfway through.

She's gingerly holding her elbow as she exits the track off but fist-pumps her coach and turns away.

    She'll be OK.
