Rebecca McGowan thinks she landed a head kick - but the move was outside of the main arena, it does not count.

Both women get trunk shots in the final seconds, but that means Nafia Kus stays in front. She wins the final round 6-2, and the match.

    Bronze to Turkey.

Julia Szeremeta is bleeding from her nose, she has taken a lot of damage over the course of these three rounds.

But she isn't prepared to take a backwards step, she knows a gold medal is still at stake, albeit it's unlikely she will win it unless something dramatic happens here.

Szeremeta smiles as she steps forward but Lin Yu-ting continues to stay behind the jab.

A lovely cross-right to the side of the Pole's head brings an end to the round.

Lin Yu-ting is on the brink of victory here. Julia Szeremeta tries her technique of dodging and weaving again but the Pole cannot get close to land blows of her own.

    She's getting caught too.

The second round goes the way of Lin and that means Szeremeta effectively needs a stoppage in the final round to deny the Taiwanese.

    Boxing - women's 57kg category final

Poland's Julia Szeremeta is now starting to try and find a way to attack on the inside, she's throwing some wild and desperate looking shots.

Lin Yu-ting, with that first round in the bag, is being much more patient.

It's great work from range behind the jab and then slick footwork to step to the side and counter when Szeremeta does close the distance.

Another unanimous round in favour of Lin.

Words can't really describe how loud this is.

Think standing at the barrier of the pit at Glasto or a stadium gig. At the side bang in front of the speaker. With Queens of the Stone Age playing.

    About that loud.

France obviously have the majority of the support but, tell you what, it is close.

Turkey's Nafia Kus Aydin is the number one seed, but she took some major blows from Becky McGowan in that round. Can she respond?

McGowan, previously a world silver medallist, is going for the big hits against her more circumspect opponent.

But with 42 seconds of the round remaining, Nafia Kus scores the first points of the round.

Can McGowan respond? She thinks she has a head shot, but the review shows it was blocked.

Julia Szeremeta's technique - low hands which offer little guard - has surprised many on her route to this final. It's like she is trying to tempt her opponent on.

It's not working here. Lin Yu-ting takes the first round unanimously.

    Boxing - women's 57kg category final

We've got two really contrasting styles here, with Lin Yu-ting happy to fight at range and use the jab, while Julia Szeremeta has a much wider base and is trying to launch her attacks on the counter.

It's Lin who is having the greater success, though.

The Taiwanese boxer earns a clean sweep on the scorecards for the first round.

If she is like this for the second one I think bronze will go on her side.

The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) modified its rules in 1992, allowing NBA players to feature in the 1992 Olympics and beyond.

The USA made full use of that opportunity and sent a 'Dream Team' for Games in Barcelona.

It was one of the most impressively assembled rosters in the history of international sport, with 10 of the 12 players named in 1996 among the 50 Greatest Players in NBA history.

The names roll off the tongue - Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, Magic Johnson... the list goes on.

This summer's contingent has drawn comparisons to that cohort with LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, Joel Embiid, Devin Brooker among those flying the flag.

So, how do the two rosters compare?

    1992: 10 NBA titles, 68 All-Star selections, 3 Season MVPs, 2 Olympic golds.

    2024: 15 NBA titles, 78 All-Star selections, 4 Season MVPs, 10 Olympic golds.

After successive sixth place finishes at London 2012 and Rio 2016, France won silver at Tokyo 2020.

The are guaranteed to at least match that feat on home soil but will undoubtedly have their sights set on a major upset when they face the USA in tonight's gold medal match.

France have won silver on three occasions - 1948, 2000 and 2020 - can they go one better tonight with the majority of the Accor Arena cheering them on?
