Marek Churcher hails Redruth after Bury St Edmonds away win

Redruth have won their last four games in succession

Redruth boss Marek Churcher has praised his side's character after they came away from Bury St Edmunds with a 35-22 victory in National Two South.

Tries from Shaun Buzza, Chris Fuca, Nielson Webber and Lewis Vinnicombe helped the Reds to a 26-5 lead at the half-time interval.

Redruth then held off a spirited home fight back in the second half to claim a sixth win from seven games.

"We've shown massive character to come here and win," said Churcher.

"It's a long way to come up, but full credit to the boys, we scored four unbelievable tries in the first half and dogged it out in the second."

The game also saw a sending off for Jack Oulton in the second half for something he said to the referee.

"It was the most bizarre red card I've ever witnessed in a game of rugby," Churcher told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"The referee was not willing to discuss it after the game but it was more verbal than anything.

"We'll watch the video, we'll have a look at it, send our report in and then take it from there."
