Just a reminder, the last frame should actually have been played in the morning session but they ran out of time.

So at 20:00 BST, we're not much further than the stage that would normally have been reached eight or nine hours earlier.

    Bingham 11-13 Jones

Stuart Bingham can only amass 12 points from that chance, and leaves a red over the corner bag after playing what is either an incredibly ambitious double or misjudged safety.

But Jak Jones can't land on a colour after potting it, so he puts Bingham in trouble on the baulk cushion.

Stuart Lumsden: Can guarantee you this game won't finish until tomorrow morning!

@Josneat: This could be a very late night. If it is, I think Kyren Wilson will be the champion!

    Bingham 11-13 Jones

Stuart Bingham is going to go for his shots tonight, you suspect.

He crashes in a fantastic long red to get in first in frame 25. A confident blue follows.

    Bingham 10-13 Jones

Three men remain then - and Stuart Bingham is the only one of the three who knows what it's like to lift the World Snooker Championship trophy.

He's still got some work to do tonight, of course, despite taking that opening frame - or the engraver will be preparing a new name to adorn the silverware this year.

Stuart needed to get off to a good start and he was mostly in control in that frame.

Jak is now feeling like what it's like to be the one who's expected to win, so these pressures are different.

For those wondering there is absolutely no time cut-off for this match. It will finish only when someone reaches that magical number of 17 frames.

If every frame follows a similar pattern to the 24th, we could well be heading past 01:00 BST.

A 40-minute frame, that one. Looking at a late one, folks, if it continues like that!

How'd you fancy getting out of this?

Jak Jones does so, admirably, albeit at the second attempt. But he leaves a half-chance at a red, which Stuart Bingham pots excellently, along the bottom cushion.

And that's the opening frame of the night in the favour of the Essex potter.

    Bingham 10-13 Jones

Big let-off for Bingham though as Jones rattles a pink in the jaws of the middle pocket.

The 2015 champion runs out of position after potting a red but is 49 points ahead with only 59 on - and lays a nasty snooker on the baulk cushion.

  11. 'Long game found wanting'published at 19:43 British Summer Time 4 May

    Bingham 10-13 Jones

    Ken Doherty
1997 world champion on BBC Two

Bingham's long ball game, which is normally so high percentage-wise, has been very, very short.

It's been found wanting so far in this semi-final.

    Bingham 10-13 Jones

Not a great safety from Jak Jones in return - but Stuart Bingham is well off target with a very makeable long red, one he'd expect to get much more often than not.

And it bounces across the table and back again, leaving Jones an unmissable starter.

Stuart Bingham trying to compose himself here.

Huge chance to get the first frame of the evening on the board, having established a near 50-point lead.

But he misses a blue to the yellow corner. He's pointing to something or someone in the crowd, indicating he was put off.

Gee: I've done some calculations and transposed the equivalent of a Wilson v Jones final as if it was the FA Cup final. Turns out it's the equivalent of Fulham v Rotherham.

Mark Hurst: If Bingham goes out, then it should officially become known as the 'Dad's Army Final' - Jones v Wilson.

And now he'll get his chance.

Jak Jones tries what he hopes is a shot-to-nothing on a long red - but the cue ball cannons the black on its way back to baulk and leaves Stuart Bingham in.

    Bingham 10-13 Jones

It's not going to suit Stuart Bingham, this kind of frame.

He likes frames to be open - only Ronnie O'Sullivan, John Higgins and Stephen Hendry have made more career maximums than the Basildon break-builder.

Some very tough tactical play going on at the moment.

We've still got 12 reds on the table and the frame is coming up to 22 minutes.

  18. Postpublished at 19:30 British Summer Time 4 May

    Bingham 10-13 Jones

Not a great safety from Stuart Bingham but he's a tad lucky he leaves the cue ball very close to the yellow, making an otherwise-easier red tricky.

Jak Jones gets close but no dice and we're back to safety central.

  19. Postpublished at 19:26 British Summer Time 4 May

    Bingham 10-13 Jones

Another Jak Jones foul leads to a comical moment where both players line up behind the referee to see if it's a free ball.

It's not - but Jones misses again. However, he clips it thin on the third attempt, as intended all along.

  20. Postpublished at 19:22 British Summer Time 4 May

    Bingham 10-13 Jones

    Bingham's chance has gone awry.

He played a superb screw shot on the yellow to get on a red with the rest but then lands on top of the blue. It's break over so he feathers the cue ball to leave Jak Jones bridging very awkwardly.

Jones fouls the blue when using the spider but leaves nothing on.
