Shaun has to play every frame as if it's the final one and give everything he's got.

    Si 10-10 Woollaston

It's all square again going into the interval as Ben Woollaston wins his third of four frames this afternoon.

Hard to predict a winner here.

Paul Curran: What a quarter final we could be in for, Trump v Brecel, not much safety there you would think.

  5. 'Interval at a good time for Trump'published at 14:18 British Summer Time

    Trump 12-8 Murphy

    Stephen Hendry
Seven-time world champion on BBC Two

This interval is coming at a good time for Judd. He can forget about it and come back fresh and probably win the match in the next frame.

If they had kept going without an interval, Shaun was starting to get a bit of momentum there and it might have been a different outcome.

  6. Murphy cuts deficit to fourpublished at 14:15 British Summer Time

The break ends on 72 but Judd Trump misses a tricky black and concedes shortly after.

Still life in Shaun Murphy yet as the players head backstage for the interval. Judd Trump, though, only needs one more frame to reach the quarter-finals.

  7. Si back in frontpublished at 14:13 British Summer Time

    Si 10-9 Woollaston

There's been a sense all along that this match might go all the way, and nothing that's happened today has changed that.

Si Jiahui edges back in front, and it's a big frame next before the mid-session interval.

  8. Postpublished at 14:13 British Summer Time

    Trump 12-7 Murphy

    Ken Doherty
1997 world champion on BBC Two

There are a few matches here that have been turned around from a 12-8 scoreline and Shaun is certainly giving himself a chance.

He's past the snookers required stage in this frame...

  9. Postpublished at 14:09 British Summer Time

    Trump 12-7 Murphy

Huge chance for Shaun Murphy to take this match to at least the final mini-session.

Bit of a fortunate - I'm almost certain unintended - four-ball plant gets him in, and the reds are spread beautifully. He'll expect to win the frame from here.

  10. Postpublished at 14:03 British Summer Time

    Trump 12-7 Murphy

    Dennis Taylor
1985 world champion on BBC Two

He is the sort of player, Shaun, who, if he gets on a roll, can knock three or four frames together in very little time.

  11. Murphy stops the rotpublished at 14:02 British Summer Time

    Trump 12-7 Murphy

Real look of focus and concentration on Shaun Murphy's face here.

He's taken these balls nicely and reduces his deficit with an admirably cool and composed 88 break.

Murphy halts Judd Trump's five-frame burst from 7-6 and he's still in this - just.

Managed to tune into the snooker over lunch and just saw that break from Judd to go 12-6 up. Every shot was so controlled and smooth it almost looked like slow motion. He's a cut above most players for me and it's a crime he only has one World Championship - hopefully this year is number two of many more.

  13. Postpublished at 13:56 British Summer Time

    Trump 12-6 Murphy

Shaun Murphy trudges back to his seat thinking he might have played his last shot in this year's World Championship after missing a tough red with the cue ball tight on the cushion.

But a surprising miss to middle by Judd Trump grants the Magician a lifeline...

This event is the last one in the 2024-25 season, but anyone fancying watching some of the action live this year still has plenty of chances to do so (I'd very much recommend it).

There are another six main events in the UK this year with tickets on sale for them already.

The next main domestic tournaments are...

    • 15-21 September, English Open (Brentwood, Essex)
    • 22-28 September, British Open (Cheltenham, Gloucestershire)
    • 19-26 October, Northern Ireland Open (Belfast)
    • 29 November-7 December, UK Championship (York)
    • 10-13 December, Shoot Out (Blackpool)
    • 15-21 December, Scottish Open (Edinburgh)

  15. 'Nobody playing better than Judd'published at 13:50 British Summer Time

    Trump 12-6 Murphy

    John Parrott
1991 world champion on BBC Two

Judd has only won one World Championship so far - work that one out!

I think this could be number two - there's nobody playing better than he is. Someone is going to have to play unbelievable stuff to even keep up with him.

  16. Woollaston levels with 110 clearancepublished at 13:48 British Summer Time

    Si 9-9 Woollaston

Ben Woollaston is back on level terms for the first time since frame four after a brilliant 110 clearance.

"Si Jiahui hasn't turned up yet," says commentator John Virgo.

If anyone has momentum, it's Woollaston.

  17. Trump a frame away from quarter-finalspublished at 13:47 British Summer Time

    Trump 12-6 Murphy

Some trademark 'naughty' snooker from the Ace in the Pack with an exhibition black to send the cue ball banana-ing.

Crowd love it - but he misses the yellow on 86 so no century. Frame in the bag though - and it's a long way back for Shaun Murphy from here.

Trump needs just one more frame to book a quarter-final - likely against Luca Brecel, who leads Ding Junhui 12-4.

  18. Postpublished at 13:43 British Summer Time

    Trump 11-6 Murphy

    Dennis Taylor
1985 world champion on BBC iPlayer

Judd has won eight frames in one visit in this match, including a couple of centuries.

    That's a pretty good record.

Big chance to turn those numbers into nine and three respectively here...

  19. Postpublished at 13:42 British Summer Time

    Trump 11-6 Murphy

Shaun Murphy had the first chance in the second frame of the afternoon but an errant positional shot is followed by an even poorer safety - and Judd Trump is in again.

That spells danger for the Magician given the form the world number one is in.

  20. Evening entertainmentpublished at 13:40 British Summer Time

    Evening: O'Sullivan 12-4 Pang, Brecel 12-4 Ding

    Michael Emons
BBC Sport at the Crucible Theatre

As Tom says, both scheduled matches in the evening session could be over after one frame as Ronnie O'Sullivan and Luca Brecel both hold 12-4 leads over Chinese duo Pang Junxu and Ding Junhui respectively.

The matches are best-of-25 frames so could be done in one frame, or could last a further nine if Pang or Ding mount an incredible fightback.

If there are fewer than four frames played on one side of the arena tonight then an exhibition of jokes, trick shots and fun involving some famous players will take place to ensure the fans get some evening entertainment.
