  1. 'Nobody playing better than Judd'published at 13:50 British Summer Time

    Trump 12-6 Murphy

    John Parrott
1991 world champion on BBC Two

Judd has only won one World Championship so far - work that one out!

I think this could be number two - there's nobody playing better than he is. Someone is going to have to play unbelievable stuff to even keep up with him.

  2. Woollaston levels with 110 clearancepublished at 13:48 British Summer Time

    Si 9-9 Woollaston

Ben Woollaston is back on level terms for the first time since frame four after a brilliant 110 clearance.

"Si Jiahui hasn't turned up yet," says commentator John Virgo.

If anyone has momentum, it's Woollaston.

  3. Trump a frame away from quarter-finalspublished at 13:47 British Summer Time

    Trump 12-6 Murphy

Some trademark 'naughty' snooker from the Ace in the Pack with an exhibition black to send the cue ball banana-ing.

Crowd love it - but he misses the yellow on 86 so no century. Frame in the bag though - and it's a long way back for Shaun Murphy from here.

Trump needs just one more frame to book a quarter-final - likely against Luca Brecel, who leads Ding Junhui 12-4.

  4. Postpublished at 13:43 British Summer Time

    Trump 11-6 Murphy

    Dennis Taylor
1985 world champion on BBC iPlayer

Judd has won eight frames in one visit in this match, including a couple of centuries.

    That's a pretty good record.

Big chance to turn those numbers into nine and three respectively here...

  5. Postpublished at 13:42 British Summer Time

    Trump 11-6 Murphy

Shaun Murphy had the first chance in the second frame of the afternoon but an errant positional shot is followed by an even poorer safety - and Judd Trump is in again.

That spells danger for the Magician given the form the world number one is in.

  6. Evening entertainmentpublished at 13:40 British Summer Time

    Evening: O'Sullivan 12-4 Pang, Brecel 12-4 Ding

    Michael Emons
BBC Sport at the Crucible Theatre

As Tom says, both scheduled matches in the evening session could be over after one frame as Ronnie O'Sullivan and Luca Brecel both hold 12-4 leads over Chinese duo Pang Junxu and Ding Junhui respectively.

The matches are best-of-25 frames so could be done in one frame, or could last a further nine if Pang or Ding mount an incredible fightback.

If there are fewer than four frames played on one side of the arena tonight then an exhibition of jokes, trick shots and fun involving some famous players will take place to ensure the fans get some evening entertainment.

Tom: Wouldn’t want a ticket for the World Snooker Championship this evening. Both scheduled matches could be over after 1 frame!

Yes, the evening crowd certainly seem to have the thin end of the wedge today, although who knows - maybe they'll witness an unforgettable comeback for the ages...

  8. Postpublished at 13:36 British Summer Time

    Trump 11-6 Murphy

    Stephen Hendry
Seven-time world champion on BBC Two

Shaun's plan would have been to come out and try to win three of the first four frames, which he can still do.

But now he's got to win three in a row and the way Judd is playing, that's no easy task.

  9. Trump two away from victorypublished at 13:33 British Summer Time

  10. Woollaston closes gap to onepublished at 13:32 British Summer Time

    Si 9-8 Woollaston

Ben Woollaston is hanging tough against Si Jiahui.

The 37-year-old from Leicester seals the opening frame of the afternoon and is one behind.

He needed a couple of chances, but there's no doubt his Chinese opponent looks edgy.

  11. Postpublished at 13:31 British Summer Time

    Trump 10-6 Murphy

Quite the battle on the yellow that the Crucible laps up.

Both players fluke snookers three shots running... Judd Trump 25 points ahead with just the colours remaining.

And the world number one cuts the yellow into the middle, adding a fantastic long green afterwards, to leave Shaun Murphy requiring snookers.

  12. Postpublished at 13:25 British Summer Time

    Trump 10-6 Murphy

    Ken Doherty
1997 world champion on BBC Two

If Shaun can somehow pinch this frame what a great boost that would be for him.

  13. Postpublished at 13:24 British Summer Time

    Trump 10-6 Murphy

Judd Trump breaks down on 63 with five reds remaining.

Shaun Murphy needs to clear the table.. and he's making a good fist of trying!

Couple of great pots on blue and pink to keep his hopes alive.

  14. Postpublished at 13:20 British Summer Time

    Trump 10-6 Murphy

A perfectly-cued long straight red gets Judd Trump off the mark for Monday and one brown to middle later, he's right in the balls already.

Worrying signs for Shaun Murphy, who'll at best come back to the table well behind in this frame - or, at worst, won't come back at all.

    Trump's visit already past 50...

  15. Postpublished at 13:14 British Summer Time

    Trump 10-6 Murphy

Down goes the divider - and Judd Trump breaks off to get us under way, needing just three frames to book a place in what would be his 11th World Championship quarter-final.

Quite head-scratching how these two prodigiously talented players only have the two Crucible crowns between them.

  16. Too close to call?published at 13:11 British Summer Time

    Si 9-7 Woollaston

    Si JiahuiImage source, PA Media

Si Jiahui is making his third World Championship appearance at the Crucible Theatre and he is aiming to reach the last eight for the second time, following his run to the semi-finals on debut two years ago.

Si's second-round match with Ben Woollaston has not been a classic over the first 16 frames, it's fair to say, but it's the most closely contested of the four remaining second-round games.

World number 44 Woollaston had never previously made it beyond the first round of the World Championship - but now has a fine chance to get to a first Crucible quarter-final.

  17. Trump 'the man to beat'published at 13:09 British Summer Time

    Trump 10-6 Murphy

    Stephen Hendry
Seven-time world champion on BBC Two

Judd's game is so impressive - he's got everything.

His safety game can compete with anybody's, his break building has matured over the last couple of years, his cue ball control is immaculate.

He's definitely the man to beat here. Judd was pretty much unplayable for most of the session last night.

The Stage Door of the Crucible is where the players enter and leave the building and normally there are some fans waiting to meet their heroes.

Judd Trump was happy to sign some autographs and pose for some pictures earlier on.

One fan told Trump his play yesterday, which saw him win £100,000 for reaching the 100-century total for this season, was "the best snooker I've ever seen".

More of the same today and the world number one will be in the quarter-finals.

  19. Centuries milestone for Trumppublished at 13:05 British Summer Time

World number one Judd Trump made his 100th century of the 2024-25 season on his way to establishing a 10-6 overnight lead against Shaun Murphy.

It's only the third time that the milestone has been achieved in a single season and Trump has achieved it twice.

He will now set his sights on Neil Robertson's record of 103, which he will surely surpass if he makes it into the quarter-finals at the Crucible and beyond.

Masters champion Murphy, who has not really done too much wrong in this match to date, needs to win seven of the nine possible frames remaining to earn a spot in the last eight.
