  3. Three break-back pointspublished at 18:53 British Summer Time 2 July

    *Raducanu 4-2 Vondrousova

Marketa Vondrousova is made of strong stuff. You don't win Wimbledon if you're not.

Some top defensive tennis helps her go to 0-40 after Raducanu top-edges a forehand for six.

    An instant break back?

The shots keep getting better! Through the eye of needle Radders then lands a passing winner to break at the first time of asking.

    Vintage stuff from the Brit.

"Come on!" Oh yes, Emma likes that a lot as a pacey return puts Vondrousova on the back-foot and the former champ crashes an off-balanced backhand into the net. 15-40.

Lucky loser Solana Sierra, speaking after beating Britain's Katie Boulter: "It feels amazing. I knew it was a really tough match, Katie is an amazing player.

"I tried to focus on myself and enjoy the moment because it is a dream to play at Wimbledon, on this court with this crowd so thank you.

"Super proud, it was really tough. From the beginning, I believed in myself that I could win this match so I'm super happy."

On having to move apartment again after extending her stay: "Yes, I lost in the third round of qualifying so we already had to change apartment three times - and now we're going to change again because I won. But it's a good problem!"

  7. 'Raducanu has to get that first strike in'published at 18:48 British Summer Time 2 July

    Raducanu 3-2 Vondrousova*

    Tracy Austin
Two-time Grand Slam champion on BBC TV

Emma Raducanu is going to have to get that first strike in the first two or three points in a game.

Her backhand is technically as sound as it gets.

  8. Raducanu holdspublished at 18:47 British Summer Time 2 July

    Raducanu 3-2 Vondrousova*

No drama on Raducanu's serve this time around. The former US Open winner holds to 15 after Vondrousova slams a forehand into the net and then drops her head in frustration.

That'll do nicely for the Brit.

  9. Vondrousova holdspublished at 18:43 British Summer Time 2 July

    *Raducanu 2-2 Vondrousova

That's filthy! A perfect drop-shot winner from Vondrousova, from way behind the baseline, that completely baffles Raducanu.

    Hold to 30.

    Oh, what's this?

Emma Raducanu's unhappy with her racquet and asks the umpire if she can send it away to get restrung.

This has been a recurring problem for Raducanu who got her racquet switched during the warm-ups in the first round. Could be one to watch. Don't say we don't keep you in the loop...

There are plenty of empty seats at the start of Emma Raducanu’s bid for a place in round three as many take the opportunity to grab refreshments or head to the loos following Carlos Alcaraz’s win over Briton Ollie Tarvet.

Going off the queues I walked past for both, it could be some time before many are able to return to back the British number one.

Those who are in their seats are already living every point with Raducanu, with most points followed either by huge cheers or collective sighs.

It should be quite the atmosphere once Centre Court does refill.

  12. Raducanu holdspublished at 18:39 British Summer Time 2 July

    Raducanu 2-1 Vondrousova*

Fine hold for Raducanu who wellies a backhand winner right into the corner, and then benefits from a Vondrousova error.

  13. 'You never know what's coming next'published at 18:38 British Summer Time 2 July

    *Raducanu 1-1 Vondrousova

    Tracy Austin
Two-time Grand Slam champion on BBC TV

What makes Marketa Vondrousova so tricky to play is so much variety.

You never know what's coming next as far as height of the shot, spin, pace and she uses angles and depth.

  14. Deucepublished at 18:37 British Summer Time 2 July

    *Raducanu 1-1 Vondrousova

15-30 and in trouble, Raducanu completely mis-hits a forehand that loops high up into the air and bounces in. The rally continues and Radders capitalises on her good fortune with a forehand from the middle that finds the line.

The Brit then volleys a winner but errors the next, so deuce it is.

    Boulter 7-6 (9-7) 2-6 1-6 Sierra

    Gary Rose
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

Big disappointment for Katie Boulter as she was unable to follow up her impressive first round win and goes out of Wimbledon.

Credit, though, to lucky loser Solana Sierra. The 21-year-old only found out she'd got a place at Wimbledon hours before her first round match and is now into round three.

  16. Vondrousova holdspublished at 18:34 British Summer Time 2 July

    *Raducanu 1-1 Vondrousova

Raducanu gets a little bit too greedy as she whizzes a forehand just long. That's enough to hand Vondrousova a hold to 30.

  17. 'Raducanu needs to keep the ball low'published at 18:33 British Summer Time 2 July

    Raducanu 1-0 Vondrousova*

    Tracy Austin
Two-time Grand Slam champion on BBC TV

Emma Raducanu has added some backhand slices [to her game] this year.

She needs to keep the ball low and not give her opponent much rhythm.

  18. Postpublished at 18:32 British Summer Time 2 July

    Raducanu 1-0 Vondrousova*

Raducanu gets down super low in order to crunch a backhand winner. That's 0-30, but Vondrousova soon levels things up by forcing two errors.

We've only just begun and it's tense already!

The lucky loser is into the round three!

It's huge disappointment for Katie Boulter but delight for Solana Sierra, who was so impressive, and comes from a set down to set up a match against Spain's Cristina Busca in the next round.

Boulter just never got going. Even as she fought back from 5-2 down to win the first set, the Brit seemed to be battling with herself.

Double fault issues - there were 14 of them in total, an average of one per service game - summed it up.

  20. Raducanu holdspublished at 18:30 British Summer Time 2 July

    Raducanu 1-0 Vondrousova*

"Ladies and gentleman, get to your seats quickly please."

The umpire on Centre Court is getting twitchy, but Raducanu takes no notice as she starts with a hold to 30.

Vondrousova to be fair is looking equally sharp and blasted a forehand into the corner which Raducanu was unable to chase down.
