    *Medvedev 5-7 3-6 6-4 6-1 5-6 Norrie

Cameron Norrie hits the front for the first time since the third game of the fifth set!

This has been an incredibly gutsy performance from Norrie, whatever the outcome, but he has fought valiantly to give himself a very real chance of winning this now.

After serving for the match, Daniil Medvedev will now serve to stay in it.

Where will this one take us next? No, I have no idea either.

The Court Simonne Mathieu crowd is well and truly captivated and there's a real tension in the arena.

Daniil Medvedev goes in search of an immediate response following his major setback and forces his way to deuce as Norrie drifts wide.

    Gadecki 2-6 2-6 Gauff

Job done for Coco Gauff. She maintains her double break lead in the second set and serves out the win.

She made fairly light work of Australia's Olivia Gadecki there.

A big smile as she waves to the crowd on Court Philippe Chatrier after 71 minutes.

Cameron Norrie breaks back as the 11th seed loses focus, seemingly out of nowhere, with the match at his fingertips.

On we go in this rollercoaster experience.

Three break points for Cameron Norrie!

Not for the first time in this match, Daniil Medvedev is faltering on serve when it matters most.

Into the end game we go.

There are huge cheers from - and for - Cameron Norrie as he comes out on top in a brilliant rally as Daniil Medvedev hits wide.

And now Norrie is 0-30 up!

I just feel like all the way throughout this match Daniil Medvedev has continued to pick his serve up a little bit.

We said at the start of this match that we thought it might be the difference between the two of them, and Medvedev has the bigger serve and the ability to get a few points from it.

It is definitely starting to prove to be the case...

  8. Norrie holds servepublished at 13:48 British Summer Time 27 May

    *Medvedev 5-7 3-6 6-4 6-1 5-4 Norrie

Cameron Norrie's task is clear. Hold serve and hope to create one last chance on Daniil Medvedev's so far rock-solid serve.

    Phase one complete.

But only after once again attempting, and failing to execute, an underarm serve... The crowd still appreciate the audacity.

  9. Medvedev holds servepublished at 13:44 British Summer Time 27 May

    Medvedev 5-7 3-6 6-4 6-1 5-3 Norrie*

    No way through.

Daniil Medvedev holds to love, popping away a closing forehand winner to move a game away from a comeback five-set win.

The 11th seed begins with an ace.

    *Medvedev 5-7 3-6 6-4 6-1 4-3 Norrie

Just what Cameron Norrie needed at this stage.

A comfortable hold to 15 keeps the Briton very much involved. He's recovered from his fourth-set struggles, but now he's running out of time to find a response here.

  12. Medvedev holds servepublished at 13:39 British Summer Time 27 May

    Medvedev 5-7 3-6 6-4 6-1 4-2 Norrie*

Daniil Medvedev smashes down an ace to get up and running on serve, but Cameron Norrie forces a couple of errors to reach 30-30.

It's not enough, though. Medvedev slams the door in his face with another ace as he breaks free to edge closer to victory.

  13. Gauff double break up in second setpublished at 13:36 British Summer Time 27 May

    Gadecki 2-6 0-3 Gauff

In similar fashion to how she started the opening set, Coco Gauff has raced out of the blocks in the second.

She's a double break up again and leads by 3-0.

Gauff has reached at least the quarter-finals in her last four French Open appearances.

  14. Norrie holds servepublished at 13:35 British Summer Time 27 May

    *Medvedev 5-7 3-6 6-4 6-1 3-2 Norrie

Cam Norrie has to watch as another Daniil Medvedev winner flies past him, but this time the British number two is able to hold serve relatively comfortably to stay in touch. It's going to take a lot, but he will know this is still there for him as we reach the business end of this captivating match.

Daniil Medvedev doesn't look in the mood to mess around out here.

He is trying to assert himself. He got a little bit tied up in that last game but did a good job trying to get through it.

  16. Medvedev holds servepublished at 13:32 British Summer Time 27 May

    Medvedev 5-7 3-6 6-4 6-1 3-1 Norrie*

Another barely believable winner from Daniil Medvedev, who whips a forehand to the baseline and Cameron Norrie is caught out as the ball barely bounces back off the surface.

The 11th seed is in full flow here and can see the finish line.

    *Medvedev 5-7 3-6 6-4 6-1 2-1 Norrie

Superb winner from Cameron Norrie, who lets rip on the run with a cross-court backhand for deuce.

Can he force his way back into this?

  18. Medvedev breaks in fifth setpublished at 13:27 British Summer Time 27 May

    *Medvedev 5-7 3-6 6-4 6-1 2-1 Norrie

More pressure for Cameron Norrie to deal with in his second service game as Daniil Medvedev gets another break point.

And despite the admirable fight Norrie showed to resist in his last game, the 11th seed seizes his opportunity here.

It's advantage Medvedev in the decider.

  19. Game and first set - Gauffpublished at 13:24 British Summer Time 27 May

That's the first set in the bag after 38 minutes for Coco Gauff.

After letting Oliva Gadecki in for couple of games, the world number two takes control to storm though the next four games and win the set.

Her first serve isn't hitting the levels we know it can, but that was relatively straightforward for the American.

Gauff has raced off court for a quick bathroom break before the start of the second set.

  20. 'Forget about that fourth set now'published at 13:24 British Summer Time 27 May

    Medvedev 5-7 3-6 6-4 6-1 1-1 Norrie*

Getting off to a good start was so important here, even though Cameron Norrie had to fend off break point.

He has really brought the energy, he is being way more aggressive with the groundstrokes and he is doing more through the court. His serve is firing up.

He will have sent some very clear messages to Daniil Medvedev that he is here to fight and that he is back. He can forget about that fourth set now.
