Jannik Sinner fist pumps towards his team after taking an early break in the second set.

The 2024 French Open runner-up gives himself two break points and makes no mistake with his first opportunity, forcing Luca Nardi into an error.

It's a long way back in this second set for Nardi now.

It's pretty noisy on Centre Court during the changes of ends and it's taking people a long time to settle once play is getting back under way.

Krejcikova isn't bothered about waiting for silence, though, as she begins her service game by smacking down an ace.

Alex de Minaur has claimed his second-round spot in quick fashion with a 6-2 6-2 7-6 win over Spain's Roberto Carballes Baena.

The Australian 11th seed needed just two hours and 25 minutes to wrap up the victory on court 18.

Lorenzo Musetti looks to have settled into his first-round match against Georgia's Nikoloz Basilashvili on court two. After losing the opening set 6-2, the Italian seventh seed has taken the second 6-4.

Reigning Olympic champion Zheng Qinwen is taking on Katerina Siniakova on court three. Things are all square in that one, with the scoreline sitting at 5-5 in the opening set.

Great Britain wildcard George Loffhagen also stepped onto court a short while ago. The 24-year-old is making his second appearance at SW19 against Spain's Pedro Martinez over on court 16. He currently leads the first set 5-2.

Elsewhere, 28th seed Alexander Bublik is a set down against Spain's Jaume Munar on court 14. It took Munar just 32 minutes to wrap up the opening set but the pair are still with serve in the second.

  5. Eala holdspublished at 14:00 British Summer Time 1 July

    *Krejcikova 2-3 Eala

As well as getting to the final of Eastbourne last week, Alexandra Eala enjoyed a superb run to the semi-finals in Miami in March.

During that tournament, she defeated Australian Open champion Madison Keys and multiple Grand Slam winner Iga Swiatek.

She backs up that break back with a hold of serve to retake the lead in this opening set.

  6. Sinner holdspublished at 14:00 British Summer Time 1 July

    Sinner 6-4 1-0 Nardi*

What can you do if you're Luca Nardi?

Jannik Sinner's just serving too well right now, keeping his opponent guessing by taking him wide and then down the line.

It's a simple hold for the three-time Grand Slam winner, who is looking in ominous form now.

  7. Precision and power from Sinnerpublished at 13:59 British Summer Time 1 July

The crowd have really been getting behind Luca Nardi in the tough moments he's faced so far. Shouts of 'Forza Luca!' and huge applause all around the stands greeted his hard-earned hold for four games apiece.

But the 95th-ranked 21-year-old had been living dangerously with double-faults and errors of late, and that breakthrough felt a matter of time.

From this distance you can truly appreciate the stunning pace, power and precision with which Sinner strikes the ball. The world number one is very much up and running.

  8. 'Nardi played as well as he could'published at 13:59 British Summer Time 1 July

    *Sinner 6-4 Nardi

    John Lloyd

Luca Nardi played as well as he could.

Jannik Sinner wasn't at his best but he didn't need to be.

  9. 'Krejcikova looks eager today'published at 13:58 British Summer Time 1 July

Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Live

All of the Czech players have great technique when hitting their groundstroke and Krejcikova is very much in that category.

She uses her legs so well on the grass courts, she accelerates into the ball and has that very low crouched position when hitting the ball.

    She is looking eager today.

Many here predicted an upset today but Krejcikova actually arrived at last year's tournament in similar form, struggling with injury.

At just 20 years old, it's a tough ask for the up-and-coming Eala and Krejcikova's experience may just shine through on the big stage.

Just as I say that, she breaks back as Krejcikova double faults. What do I know, right?

  11. Eala breaks backpublished at 13:57 British Summer Time 1 July

    Krejcikova 2-2 Eala*

An immediate reply from Alexandra Eala.

A cross-court backhand winner is followed by an excellent drop shot to bring up 0-30 and, when Krejcikova goes long with a forehand, Eala has two opportunities to break straight back.

The first goes begging, but Krejcikova gifts her the game with a double fault.

  12. Game and first set - Sinnerpublished at 13:56 British Summer Time 1 July

    Sinner 6-4 Nardi

What a time for Jannik Sinner to flex his muscles.

The 23-year-old hits a stunning forehand winner down the line to give himself two break points and he forces an error from Luca Nardi on the second to take the first set.

    *Krejcikova 2-1 Eala

Former British number one on BBC TV

The defending champion Barbora Krejcikova looks to be in good touch here with the early break.

  14. Krejcikova breakspublished at 13:53 British Summer Time 1 July

    *Krejcikova 2-1 Eala

That's superbly done by Barbora Krejcikova, who secures the first break of the match with an exquisite lob over Alexandra Eala.

Eala was 40-15 up in that game but a couple of errors let the defending champion back in and Krejcikova took full advantage.

    Anne Keothavong
Former British number one on BBC TV

For someone still so young, just 20 years of age, Alexandra Eala is composed and mature.

She can be very feisty and it's great to see the competitive spirit come out at certain times over the course of the match.

  16. Sinner holdspublished at 13:50 British Summer Time 1 July

    Sinner 5-4 Nardi*

And just like that, Sinner's ahead once more.

The world number one is serving far too well for Nardi at this moment in time - winning 89% of his first serves so far this set.

But Nardi is hanging in there....

  17. Postpublished at 13:48 British Summer Time 1 July

    *Sinner 4-4 Nardi

    John Lloyd
Former GB Davis Cup captain on BBC TV

Luca Nardi served three double faults in that game so it is a good effort to hold serve against Jannik Sinner.

  18. Nardi holdspublished at 13:47 British Summer Time 1 July

    *Sinner 4-4 Nardi

From the ridiculous to the sublime from Luca Nardi.

The Italian saves three break points to somehow hold. He double faults three times, clearly disturbed by the level of Jannik Sinner's return.

But he finds an ace on Sinner's advantage and then forces the world number one into two errors.

  19. Krejcikova holdspublished at 13:45 British Summer Time 1 July

    Krejcikova 1-1 Eala*

A double fault at 40-0 is the only blemish in Barbora Krejcikova's opening service game.

Not many long rallies thus far, plenty of short points.

  20. 'Very good match so far'published at 13:42 British Summer Time 1 July

    Sinner 4-3 Nardi*

    John Lloyd
Former GB Davis Cup captain on BBC TV

The quality is very very good indeed.

Both are playing well, serving well and I think it's a very good match so far.
