No real reaction from Novak Djokovic after racing to the first set in just half an hour.

He is strictly business this evening.

Or at least he is until the crowd begin cheering and whistling when he decides to change his top.

That brings a smile. On the inside, he must be absolutely delighted with how this is going.

  2. 'Gauff's serve can be a huge weapon'published at 19:50 British Summer Time 1 July

    *Yastremska 1-1 Gauff

    Tracy Austin
Two-time Grand Slam champion on BBC TV

Coco Gauff's serve can be a huge weapon but also at points in her career it can be a liability with double faults.

  3. Gauff holdspublished at 19:50 British Summer Time 1 July

    *Yastremska 1-1 Gauff

Dayana Yastremska has had a great grass-court season so far, reaching the final in Nottingham and the last eight in Eastbourne.

However, beating the world number two in the first round of Wimbledon would top those achievements by some way.

Coco Gauff is 0-30 in her first service game but recovers well with four straight points to level it up.

  4. Etcheverry holdspublished at 19:50 British Summer Time 1 July

    Etcheverry 6-7 (4-7) 3-6 4-1 Pinnington Jones*

A huge serve from Tomas Martin Etcheverry gets it to deuce and is celebrated like a set-winning point.

Etcheverry uses some footwork to creep up the court and his backhand does the rest for advantage.

The Argentine wraps up the hold with another fine serve.

  5. Break back point Pinnington Jonespublished at 19:48 British Summer Time 1 July

    *Etcheverry 6-7 (4-7) 3-6 3-1 Pinnington Jones

A third double fault of the match from Tomas Martin Etcheverry invites Jack Pinnington Jones back into the game.

Etcheverry shows his frustration when he skews the ball wide for 30-30.

But Pinnington Jones just keeps coming. The Briton has the chance to break back.

  6. Postpublished at 19:46 British Summer Time 1 July

    *Muller 1-6 0-1 Djokovic

Novak Djokovic made just six unforced errors in that first set.

It's forcing Alexandre Muller to push the boundaries as he looks for winners and the Frenchman found one at 15-0 down with a brilliant cross-court forehand to the tramline.

But Djokovic is proving too strong at this moment in time, with the Serb holding in his opening service game in the second set.

  7. Yastremska holdspublished at 19:45 British Summer Time 1 July

    Yastremska 1-0 Gauff*

Some powerful groundstrokes from both players early on but it's world number 42 Dayana Yastremska who takes the opener on serve.

  8. 'Controlled conditions could help Yastremska'published at 19:44 British Summer Time 1 July

    *Yastremska 0-0 Gauff

    Tracy Austin
Two-time Grand Slam champion on BBC TV

I think the roof being closed might help Dayana Yastremska, she takes such big cuts of the ball.

The controlled conditions could help Yastremska even more.

  9. Pinnington Jones holdspublished at 19:44 British Summer Time 1 July

    *Etcheverry 6-7 (4-7) 3-6 3-1 Pinnington Jones

It has been a pretty good atmosphere out on court 17 over the course of the opening two sets when Jack Pinnington Jones was on top.

The noise levels have dropped a little in the third with Tomas Martin Etcheverry forcing his way back into contention.

Pinnington Jones does draw a cheer when he gets the hold and on the board in the third.

  10. 'Yastremska can be dangerous'published at 19:41 British Summer Time 1 July

    Yastremska v Gauff

    Tracy Austin
Two-time Grand Slam champion on BBC TV

This is a really difficult first-round match.

We know that Coco Gauff won Roland Garros and then she played just one match on grass.

Dayana Yastremska is a huge ball-striker, she can be dangerous.

  11. Game and first setpublished at 19:41 British Summer Time 1 July

    Muller 1-6 Djokovic

Novak Djokovic takes the first set with his third break.

If the scoreline makes it look like it was light work for the Serb then that's because it was.

He's just made Alexandre Muller look very ordinary in just over half an hour's play.

Tomas Martin Etcheverry saves break and goes on to hold.

The Argentine has a firm grip on this third set.

  13. Djokovic holdspublished at 19:39 British Summer Time 1 July

    *Muller 1-5 Djokovic

Novak Djokovic has been in imperious form so far.

The Serb's service game has been superb, with the 38-year-old winning 14 of his 16 points on serve so far.

  14. Break back point Pinnington Jonespublished at 19:38 British Summer Time 1 July

    *Etcheverry 6-7 (4-7) 3-6 2-0 Pinnington Jones

"We love you PJ," shouts one of the many people in the crowd supporting the Briton.

What is not to love about the way Jack Pinnington Jones has handled himself out there?

The 22-year-old gets to 40-30 and has the chance to break back immediately.

  15. 'Djokovic means business here'published at 19:38 British Summer Time 1 July

    *Muller 1-5 Djokovic

    Tim Henman
Former British number one on BBC One

I've watched Novak Djokovic a lot this year - and I've seen everything from some really good tennis to some pretty indifferent tennis - but he has really come out with a focus and intensity here.

His ball-striking has been first class. He means business here.

    Yastremska v Gauff

    Jess Anderson
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

The roof is over Court One in anticipation for Coco Gauff's match against Dayana Yastremska going into the night.

I expect it won't be long before we see it coming across Centre Court.

What a treat this is, though, for the Court One crowd.

  17. Etcheverry breakspublished at 19:37 British Summer Time 1 July

    *Etcheverry 6-7 (4-7) 3-6 2-0 Pinnington Jones

I wondered if there might be a slight drop off after Jack Pinnington Jones won the first set but there wasn't.

We might be just seeing that now, though, as Tomas Martin Etcheverry comes out with intent and gets a break to 15.

  18. Muller in a cornerpublished at 19:36 British Summer Time 1 July

    Harry Poole
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

If you’re getting applause off the men’s record 24-time major winner, you know you’re doing something right.

Alexandre Muller could not have cut through that slice any sweeter as he looks to avoid falling further behind, and Novak Djokovic offers an approving tap of his racquet.

The sentiment is not repaid when Djokovic lobs Muller moments later, however, but the crowd make their appreciation very clear.

Double break. Djokovic is making light work of this.

  19. Gauff gets campaign under waypublished at 19:36 British Summer Time 1 July

    Gauff v Yastremska

It's less than four weeks since Coco Gauff won the French Open on the Paris clay, and now she's hoping to back that success up on the Wimbledon grass.

It was at SW19 in 2019 that a 15-year-old Gauff announced herself to the tennis world with a stunning victory over five-time champion Venus Williams.

Gauff plays Dayana Yastremska of Ukraine under the Court One roof shortly - this was due to be on Centre Court but has been moved following that early finish to Jack Draper's match, plus some long-running matches on Centre.

  20. 'Grass is the toughest surface to defend on'published at 19:34 British Summer Time 1 July

    Muller 1-4 Djokovic*

    Tim Henman
Former British number one on BBC One

Grass is the toughest surface to defend on, so you want to play offensive front-footed tennis.

Does Alexandre Muller have the tools to be able to do that against Novak Djokovic? Well, I think his game plan has got to be hitting his spots on his first serve, luring in a defensive reply and then dictating things from the back of the court.

It's going to be a tough ask but the more he can play points on his terms, the more chance he has got of having an impact in this match.
