It has been a pretty serene start to this Wimbledon for 2022 champion Elena Rybakina.

The 26-year-old eased through her first round match against Armenia's Elina Avanesyan for the loss of just three games.

While world number 77 Maria Sakkari provided a slightly sterner test, Rybakina still lost only four games on her way to a relatively routine second-round straight-set victory.

World number 22 Clara Tauson is expected to be a level up again, but Rybakina will be looking to keep her early momentum when she steps out first on court two on Saturday morning.

Former Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina continues her quest for a second title at SW19 when she faces 23rd seed Clara Tauson on court two shortly.

The 2022 winner of the Venus Rosewater Dish has never lost before the fourth round at this Grand Slam, which sets up for a tough task for Denmark's Tauson.

Despite a number of top seeds exiting early, if Rybakina does make it through, she could be facing a difficult fourth round tie with five-time grand slam champion Iga Swiatek potentially lying in wait.

When it comes to her head-to-head against today's opponent, Rybakina leads Tauson 2-0 after defeating 22-year-old Dane in 2019 at Bastad and last year at Miami.

Can she keep up her perfect pre-first week record on the Wimbledon grass?

There are no British players in singles action today, but the three doubles events contain home interest and the juniors' tournaments also get under way.

Fifth seeds Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool take on Hendrik Jebens and Albano Olivetti last on court two in the second round of the men's doubles.

Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski - the sixth seeds - also continue their quest for the men's doubles title when they take to court 15 for their second-round match against Nicolas Barrientos and Rithvik Choudary Bollipalli.

Salisbury returns to the same court later as he partners Luisa Stefani of Brazil in the mixed doubles.

It might be a day off from the singles for home hope Sonay Kartal (pictured), but she is back in action alongside Jodie Burrage as they face 11th seeds Beatriz Haddad Maia and Laura Siegemund in the women's doubles second round on court 16.

Also in the women's doubles, Ella McDonald and Mimi Xu take on American pairing and 16th seeds Caroline Dolehide and Sofia Kenin third on court three.

There are two notable names in girls' singles first-round action, with second seed Hannah Klugman and seventh seed Mika Stojsavljevic - who both made their debuts in the women's draw this year - getting their junior competitions under way later on court 12.
