Summary

  1. Kartal & Haddad Maia holdpublished at 15:25 British Summer Time 5 July

    *Burrage/Kartal 1-4 Haddad Mai/Siegemund

Sonay Kartal holds to 15 on her service game, directing a forehand into the corner as the Britons get on the scoreboard.

Beatriz Haddad Maia then responds with a hold of her own after Jodie Burrage's return goes long.

  2. Rybakina holdspublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 5 July

    *Tauson 7-6 (8-6) 5-3 Rybakina

Clara Tauson has her sights firmly fixed on the finishing line when Elena Rybakina sends long for 15-30.

But Rybakina has other ideas and wins three points in a row to hold.

Tauson will serve for the match.

  3. Krejcikova breakspublished at 15:22 British Summer Time 5 July

    *Krejcikova 2-1 Navarro

It was around 15 minutes between the umpire calling the players to sit down as the rain arrived and Emma Navarro serving.

The American had been keen to get going and perhaps this was why.

She can't keep hold of her serve after the delay and it is advantage Barbora Krejcikova early in this opening set.

  4. Sinner holdspublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 5 July

    Sinner 6-1 6-3 3-0 Martinez*

    Jannik Sinner holds.

Pedro Martinez will need a minor miracle from here.

  5. Tauson holdspublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 5 July

    Tauson 7-6 (8-6) 5-2 Rybakina*

We're finally getting back under way on court two.

It's 19 minutes since the last point was played and Clara Tauson leads 40-30.

The Dane lands a strong first serve and gets the hold.

Elena Rybakina will serve to stay in the match.

  6. Sinner breakspublished at 15:18 British Summer Time 5 July

    *Sinner 6-1 6-3 2-0 Martinez

Pedro Martinez's head has, understandably, dropped in this third set.

Jannik Sinner gets the break he needs, with the Spaniard hitting a couple of really lazy, wayward shots.

  7. Champion form?published at 15:16 British Summer Time 5 July

There was a collective 'oof' from the Centre Court crowd mid-point when Jannik Sinner absolutely wellied a forehand which reverberated under the roof in that closing game of set two.

This may not be as competitive as most would've hoped, but the world number one is certainly delighting with some of his play, including a wonderful drop shot moments ago as he further tightened his hold on this match.

While all the talk outside is about the weather, in here it's all about whether this is champion-in-the-making stuff from the world number one.

On Court 18, where Belinda Bencic and Elisabetta Cocciaretto's match has been suspended because of the rain, the umpire is currently scooching along the grass in an attempt to see how slippery it is.

    Quite amusing, actually.

There's a lot of rubbing the grass and sliding along it.

Anyway looks like we're going to get back under way here.

  9. Postpublished at 15:15 British Summer Time 5 July

    Krejcikova 1-1 Navarro*

I think we have had more rounds of the Mexican wave than we have points in this match.

    The crowd are loving it!

  10. Sinner holdspublished at 15:13 British Summer Time 5 July

    Sinner 6-1 6-3 1-0 Martinez*

Jannik Sinner wraps up the opening game of the third set by holding to love.

  11. Haddad Maia & Siegemund in controlpublished at 15:13 British Summer Time 5 July

    Burrage/Kartal* 0-3 Haddad Mai/Siegemund

Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia and German partner Laura Siegemund win three successive games against Britons Jodie Burrage and Sonay Kartal.

Both Burrage and Kartal have hit into the net on numerous occasions and that has proved costly so far.

That is in direct contrast to the consistent serving from Siegemund.

Game, set and match - Cobollipublished at 15:13 British Summer Time 5 July

    Cobolli 6-2 6-4 6-2 Mensik

Flavio Cobolli continues his stunning Wimbledon run with another straight-set victory.

The 22nd seed claims a 6-2 6-4 6-2 win over 15th seed Jakub Mensik, just one hour and 48 minutes after the pair stepped out on to court 12.

Cobolli is yet to drop a set at this year's championships and the Italian will be hoping to continue his unblemished record when he comes up against either Marin Cilic or Jaume Munar in the fourth round.

  13. 'No-one is hurting Sinner'published at 15:12 British Summer Time 5 July

    Greg Rusedski
Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds

When Sinner's forehand goes mid-height or above, he just takes control of the point . You have to have the ball with pace going low against Sinner. Anything that sits up, you might as well start shaking hands.

You have to have something that can continuously hurt Sinner. No-one has done that so far in this tournament.

    Mexican waveImage source, Reuters

It's a slightly strange situation on Court One... rain fell, fans' brollies went up, the players sat down under big umbrellas and everyone thought the roof might come. But it hasn't,

But it's now dry and the slow clapping has started.... surely it's now dry and they can start playing?

And now a Mexican wave. A very clear message!

  15. Postpublished at 15:11 British Summer Time 5 July

    *Tauson 7-6 (8-6) 4-2 Rybakina

Both Clara Tauson and Elena Rybakina are understandably looking a little frustrated as they pace around at the side of the court.

They spent two hours off the court earlier due to rain late in the first set and it's now 10 minutes since the last point was played.

It's four hours since they actually started this match!

  16. Martinez calls the trainer for second timepublished at 15:11 British Summer Time 5 July

    Sinner 6-1 6-3 Martinez

Well, you wouldn't know it from that second set to be fair - but Pedro Martinez is still struggling with his right shoulder.

The Spaniard calls the trainer for a second time just to take a look at the issue and to get some movement into the region.

After allowing one set point to pass him by, Jannik Sinner makes no mistake on the second.

The Italian somehow retrieves a Pedro Martinez volley at the net to wrongfoot the Spaniard.

The world number one is in cruise control here.

  18. Postpublished at 15:10 British Summer Time 5 July

    *Krejcikova 1-1 Navarro

They have not covered the court and the players remain sitting in their seats.

The umpire is a having a chat with the players to keep them up to date that they are hopeful this is just a passing bit of drizzle.

Emma Navarro is now up on her feet and keen to get going, however, Barbora Krejcikova is insisting the rain is still coming down.

The shower was mercifully brief and someone claps as the drops stop falling - it is very British to clap weather.

Hopefully we will be back playing again soon because the covers stayed off.

  20. Here comes the rain...published at 15:05 British Summer Time 5 July

    Krejcikova 1-1 Navarro*

Just as Barbora Krejcikova finishes serving, the umpire calls the players to sit back down.

The previous match had been played under the roof on Court One but this match started without it.

The defending champion was getting the drizzle whipped into her face from the wind so invites the ball boy to sit next to her with the umbrella he is holding.

Impressive arm strength to keep that held out in front of them both.
