    A comfortable 40-0 service hold.

Mirra Andreeva has barely put a foot wrong in this match, making just three unforced errors so far, and she is definitely looking steadier from the back of the court at the moment.

Hailey Baptiste will serve to stay in this first set.

  2. Andreeva breakspublished at 13:36 British Summer Time 5 July

    *Andreeva 4-1 Baptiste

Mirra Andreeva secures the double break!

This will be a pleasing start for the Russian, who managed to fight back from 0-40 down to force Hailey Baptiste's service game to deuce.

Two unforced errors from the American - a forehand long and an easy forehand into the net - hands Andreeva another break.

Baptiste had the whole court to pick from, but she makes a big mistake at a big moment.

Play to finally resume on court 18, been waiting here for hours, after camping. Rain has ruined everything but the show must go on! Excited to see the rest of play today!

    Dylan

Thanks for the update Dylan. Hopefully, the rain stays off for the rest of the day and you can finally enjoy some tennis.

Can you confirm whether there was a Mexican-wave when the covers came off?

Another service hold for Mirra Andreeva. This one was less routine though, with Hailey Baptiste forcing the game to deuce.

The Russian looks so comfortable from the back of the court and she is using her doubles experience so well when challenged at the net.

Hailey Baptiste loves a little net exchange, so expect plenty of those this afternoon!

    Breaking

There is some positive news finally on the outside courts.

The ground covers are coming off and it looks like play isn't too far away.

Fans on court 18 have been celebrating the removal of the covers with a Mexican-wave. Can you offer any further insight into that Oli? Or are you still hunting for Centre Court tickets?

We're still working on the information of no play before 13:30 BST, so it could all be back up and running any time in the next 10 or 15 minutes.

  6. Sinner-Martinez up nextpublished at 13:25 British Summer Time 5 July

Jannik Sinner and Pedro Martinez will be taking to Centre Court in a moment.

We're just getting a rundown of who's who in the Royal Box today, if that's your sort of thing.

On court 18, watched one set after camping since 2pm Friday. Soaking like drowned rats in this rain - praying for Centre Court resale tickets.

That's more like it from Hailey Baptiste!

The American secures her first service hold of the match as Mirra Andreeva hits her cross-court return long at 40-15.

That should give the 23-year-old a bit of scoreboard confidence.

  9. The state of playpublished at 13:18 British Summer Time 5 July

It wouldn't be Wimbledon without a bit of rain, would it?

A reminder that we'll have no play on the outside courts before 13:30 BST, which is also when world number one Jannik Sinner starts on Centre Court.

The grounds still look pretty magnificent this afternoon, though.

A comfortable hold to back-up that early break of serve for Mirra Andreeva.

The 18-year-old looks so composed out on court. She is well and truly locked in.

After a few exchanges at the net, she secures the hold at 40-15.

It's a shame that the organisers of Wimbledon don't use the two covered courts for matches that are rained off, especially when those two courts aren't in use until around 1pm. It would certainly alleviate fixture congestion, but I suppose there's a reason why they don't do it.

    Anne Keothavong
Former British number one on BBC One

Mirra Andreeva is strong from the back of the court and has great court awareness when she does come forward.

For someone so young, she has done a great job over the last couple of years developing an all-court game.

How are people here filling the time during the rain delay?

Well handily it has happened around lunchtime so the food halls and bars around the outside of Centre Court are busy, while those with Centre Court tickets headed in early to sit under cover, and I've been watching a few corks flying into the air as many pass the time sipping some champers.

I overheard one lady saying she was just going to "go home and watch Novak Djokovic there". Seemed a bit excessive.

    *Andreeva 1-0 Baptiste

A dream start for Mirra Andreeva.

Hailey Baptiste will be kicking herself after serving up a double fault to hand the seventh seed a couple of early break points at 40-15.

The 18-year-old needed a second bite at the cherry to see things through, but eventually secures a break of serve in the opening game.

  15. Baptiste to serve firstpublished at 13:08 British Summer Time 5 July

    Andreeva 0-0 Baptiste*

Mirra Andreeva and Hailey Baptiste are out and warming up on court.

The Russian has won the toss and decided to receive first in this opening set.

Umpire Manuel Absolu is in position, so they are just about ready to get things underway on court one.

Russian teenager Mirra Andreeva is the second-highest seed remaining in the women's draw.

Seventh seed Andreeva, who only turned 18 in April, has made it through her first two matches in straight sets and will hope to match her run to the Wimbledon fourth round as a 16-year-old in 2023 by winning again today.

Her opponent on Court One, American Hailey Baptiste, is ranked just outside the top 50 but has got to round three on her Wimbledon debut - a few weeks after getting to the last 16 of the French Open.

The rain is still coming down and we are not going to get any play on the outside courts before 13:30 BST but it could be even later if the weather forecast I'm looking at is correct.

Court One has the luxury of a roof so the third round tie between seventh seed Mirra Andreeva and American Hailey Baptiste is still on track to get under way in the next 10 minutes or so.

In better news, we are guaranteed some tennis from 13:00 BST, with the roof set to be shut on Centre Court and Court One.

Seventh seed Mirra Andreeva and American Hailey Baptiste are scheduled for Court One at 13:00.

World number one Jannik Sinner faces Spain's Pedro Martinez on Centre Court at 13:30.

For now, you can watch replays from yesterday's action at the top of this page and we'll be back shortly.

Rain Stops Play - Solution? If the ball children can hold umbrellas up over the players heads when the sun is shining, couldn’t they do the same when it’s raining? Excellent exercise.
