1. Gauff starts second set with breakpublished at 18:06 British Summer Time 5 July

    Kartal 4-6 0-1 Gauff*

Not the best start from Sonay Kartal - remember she was broken on serve at the start of the first set - as she double faults to give Coco Gauff a 30-0 lead.

Kartal hooks wide and Gauff has three break points.

The American secures it the first attempt.

  3. Sakkari holdspublished at 18:06 British Summer Time 5 July

    *Raducanu 2-1 Sakkari

Maria Sakkari gets on the scoreboard, racing to 40-15 before Emma Raducanu gets a point back, with the Greek ultimately holding.

A rapid start so far on Centre.

  4. 'Kartal can use the fact she's seen more of Gauff'published at 18:04 British Summer Time 5 July

    *Kartal 4-6 0-0 Gauff

    Laura Robson
Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds

For Sonay, I think she’s got to use the fact that she’s seen a lot more of Coco than the other way around.

I think everyone knows Coco has a slightly weaker shot on the forehand side, Kartal needs to get her moving and playing multiple forehand shots in a row.

A huge roar from Coco Gauff as she turns to her team after an ace wraps up the opening set. Far from routine and the world number 298 and second seed are in a proper contest.

That roar from Coco Gauff at the end of the set was almost a sense of relief.

I doubt she expected this much of a battle on her hands this evening.

  7. 'Raducanu playing freely'published at 18:03 British Summer Time 5 July

    Raducanu 2-0 Sakari*

    Johanna Konta
Former British number one on BBC TV

It's obvious to tell that Emma Raducanu is playing incredibly freely. She is hitting through her ball and so Maria Sakkari is not getting a lot of reprieve within the points

  8. ‘Let’s go, Em’published at 18:03 British Summer Time 5 July

    Raducanu 2-0 Sakkari*

    Charlotte Coates
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

“Let’s go, Em” and “let’s go, Radders” are the common calls around Centre Court as the support cheer every point won by the Brit.

You would expect more people to pile in here once they’ve got their refreshments following Carlos Alcaraz’s huge win.

  9. Raducanu holdspublished at 18:02 British Summer Time 5 July

    Raducanu 2-0 Sakkari*

Emma 'Radders' Raducanu gets a precious hold, somehow staying in a rally with a loopy forehand before Maria Sakkari errors.

    A great response from 15-40.

  10. Game and first set - Gauffpublished at 18:02 British Summer Time 5 July

    *Kartal 4-6 Gauff

Sonay Kartal challenges a call as Coco Gauff's shot is called in.

Hawk-Eye shows it was comfortably on the chalk and Gauff has set point.

Kartal brings it back to deuce but Gauff puts her foot on the pedal and let's out a roar as she takes the set.

Find out what your Emma Raducanu chant says about you....

I think I'm a common hipster Jonathan. A bit of Emma, a bit of Radders

We've not yet reached a consensus on a rallying call for Raducanu.

"Come on Emma!" is the most obvious and common one.

"Come on Radders!" is the hipster shout.

"Come on Em!" is the leftfield option.

John: I like Sonay Kartal demeanour on court. Simply refreshingly getting on with it - and brilliantly in this first set against Coco Gauff.

  14. Second break point savedpublished at 18:00 British Summer Time 5 July

    *Raducanu 1-0 Sakkari

A timely ace from Emma Raducanu. Deuce.

  15. First break point savedpublished at 17:59 British Summer Time 5 July

One break point saved. Sakkari spins one long. 30-40.

    *Kartal 4-5 Gauff

Coco Gauff may have felt this match would be over quickly when she broke Sonay Kartal in the opening game but the Briton has made this an interesting contest.

Now, serving for the set, Gauff is keen to get over the line and steps up the aggression, making her way towards the net and volleying for a 15-0 lead.

Kartal, again, won't let this go easily and forces an error to level at 30-30.

  17. Break back points Sakkaripublished at 17:59 British Summer Time 5 July

    *Raducanu 1-0 Sakkari

Emma Raducanu halves the deficit after forcing an error, but then slaps a backhand into the net to slip to 15-40.

A chance for an instant response.

The challenge from Coco Gauff at deuce may have decided this set. Her backhand, called out, only just clipped the back of the line. She celebrated it and moments later another backhand winner gave her the break.

Much, much better from Maria Sakkari who moves to 0-30 with a crunching crosscourt forehand winner.

    Raducanu under the roof.

This time she's indoors on Centre after playing over on One against Elise Mertens in round two.

The Brit had a heap of fun on Wednesday, saying she loves playing on Wimbledon's second show-court.

Will she get that Friday feeling on the biggest stage?
