Alcaraz 5-7 6-2 4-6 7-6 (7-2) 6-2 Tiafoe
Third seed Carlos Alcaraz speaking after making it through to the last 16: "Always a big challenge playing against Frances [Tiafoe]. He is a really talented player, really tough to face and he has shown again that he deserves to be at the top and fight for big things.
"Really difficult for me to adapt my game, to find solutions to put him in trouble but really happy to do it at the end of the match."
On the fourth-set tie-break: "I faced a lot of difficult moments during the fourth set. There were a lot of difficult moments in the tie-break and I was just thinking about hitting one more ball.
"I have to tell myself to go for it. If I lose it, I lose it but I have to feel that I went it all the time and most of the time it works on my side and that happened today again."
On his team: "They say they suffer more than me. Watching from the box and having the feeling that they can't do anything is really difficult to deal with.
"But the support is always so helpful from my team and my family. Probably matches like this one would be impossible to win without them."
*Kartal 2-4 Gauff
Another comfortable hold of serve from Coco Gauff as she re-establishes a two-game lead.
Sonay Kartal is sitting so deep as she tries to give herself every opportunity to return but the speed of delivery from Coco Gauff is proving tough to deal with.
Alcaraz 5-7 6-2 4-6 7-6 (7-2) 6-2 Tiafoe
We're still in the first week and Carlos Alcaraz has come through a huge challenge.
His good friend Frances Tiafoe told him that he was coming for him and the American proved to be a man of his word.
Alcaraz dug deep, though, and his class really shone through in the fourth-set tie-break and then in the deciding set.
His title defence goes on...

I’ve not caved in just yet but I will definitely be trying out the famous Wimbledon strawberries and cream at some point.
The only problem is the queue to get hold of some is always huge!
Kartal 2-3 Gauff*
We're seeing the full catalogue of shots from Coco Gauff as she draws Sonay Kartal to the net before executing a lob that sends the Brit sprinting back to her baseline. Kartal can only hook wide and trails 30-15.
Kartal refuses to let her head drop, though, and manages to turn the game on its head - winning the next three points to hold.
*Kartal 1-3 Gauff
Coco Gauff is just so dominant on serve.
Sonay Kartal manages to return but it's just teed up for Gauff to attack.
Gauff holds to 15.
Alcaraz 5-7 6-2 4-6 7-6 (7-2) 6-2 Tiafoe
What an ovation for Frances Tiafoe as he leaves Centre Court.
The crowd appreciate what he did today. The American pushed Carlos Alcaraz all the way and, more than that, he did it in the most entertaining manner.
Kartal 1-2 Gauff*
The fans in Court One sense Sonay Kartal might need them and they make some noise as she prepares for her second service game.
And it works as Kartal strokes the ball away to win the first point.
Kartal steps up to the net to volley and moves 40-0 clear and then Coco Gauff goes long.
Game to Kartal.

A gorgeous shot to finish a brilliant match.
When it mattered most, it was Carlos Alcaraz who was able to step up.
He will be absolutely delighted to come through.

If you're nervous, it's always a good thing just to hit deep down the middle of the court. Take out the sidelines. Take out the baseline. Take out the net most of all. Just make the opponent hit a few balls. Don't go for too much.
Alcaraz 5-7 6-2 4-6 7-6 (7-2) 6-2 Tiafoe
Sealed in style! Carlos Alcaraz with a superb drop shot to win it.
The defending champion was really up against it after going two sets to one down to the impressive Frances Tiafoe.
But he came through strongly to win the fourth and just overpowered an understandably tiring Tiafoe in the fifth.
Another fantastic match between these two players but, once again, Alcaraz comes out on top.

The depth of Coco Gauff's groundstrokes is pushing Sonay Kartal further and further behind the baseline in these early exchanges. The crowd on Court One give the Briton huge applause as she steps forward to serve at the start of the third game. And it's louder still when she wins the first point.
*Kartal 0-2 Gauff
There really are levels to this sport and we're seeing that right now.
Sonay Kartal is struggling against one of the top players on the circuit as Coco Gauff holds to love.
Kartal is yet to win a single point after the opening two games.

The fifth set performance from Carlos Alcaraz has been outstanding.
His second serve has been so aggressive.
It's about finding a way to get the job done.
Dealing with a bit of adversity in the tournament is no bad thing as long as you can get through to the next round.
*Alcaraz 5-7 6-2 4-6 7-6 (7-2) 5-2 Tiafoe
Just too good from Carlos Alcaraz.
A stunning forehand goes cross-court for a winner, landing on the line and giving Frances Tiafoe no chance.
A simple volley brings up three match points.

Sonay Kartal is a delightful young woman. She really is likeable, down to earth but this is a really big challenge for her against Coco Gauff.
*Alcaraz 5-7 6-2 4-6 7-6 (7-2) 5-2 Tiafoe
A tired shot into the net from Frances Tiafoe makes it 30-30 but the American fights on and gets the hold.
Carlos Alcaraz will now serve for the match.
Kartal 0-1 Gauff*
It's Sonay Kartal to get us going on serve. She's a major underdog so a hold could do wonders for her confidence.
Coco Gauff has been ruthless in the first two rounds and she breaks to love to get on the board.
