It's really important for Maria Sakkari to bring her own energy and focus on point by point.
Stay incredibly present. It was really good earlier in the set when we heard her let out that 'come on!'
*Raducanu 5-2 Sakkari
How's your luck? A net-call drops in Emma Raducanu's favour to deny Maria Sakkari a break-point chance. 30-30.

It’s fascinating because Sakkari is a top 10 player but it feels like Raducanu is so far ahead when it comes to level.
*Raducanu 5-2 Sakkari
Crunch time in the opening set.
Maria Sakkari sends over a crisp forehand winner, but Emma Raducanu cancels it out with a strong unreturnable serve. 15-15.

Maria Sakkari isn’t happy, she’s gesturing to her team at the change of ends as she just doesn’t have any answers for Emma Raducanu’s brilliance.
What’s more, Centre Court is about 80% full now and the support for the Brit is even louder.
*Raducanu 5-2 Sakkari
Incredible shot!
Emma Raducanu just flings a backhand at a Maria Sakkari overhead smash but connects with the ball and ends up producing an improbable lob that clips the baseline.
The Briton goes two breaks to the good!
Raducanu 4-2 Sakkari*
30-30, big moment but Maria Sakkari can't match it, double-faulting!
Insurance break point again for Emma Raducanu.

These sort of battles that Maria Sakkari hasn't come through yet are going to start weighing her down because it almost feels like an insurmountable mountain to climb when Emma Raducanu looks like she is on a steam train.

18.09 on the Raducanu coverage- if it’s raining and no play on uncovered courts, how come it’s half full in there?
Mark, Hove
I'd imagine plenty with Centre Court tickets are having a quick toilet break and grabbing some food after watching Carlos Alcaraz's epic five-set win about 30 minutes ago.
Kartal 4-6 0-6 Gauff
Coco Gauff races into a 40-0 lead and has three attempts at match point.
And the American digs out an ace to wrap up the second set.
Gauff is into the last 16.

These two are absolutely pummelling these tennis balls but it’s Emma Raducanu who is getting the better of it, much to the delight of the Centre Court crowd.

The crowd are hitting the shots with Emma Raducanu, they are right there with her at every point, every shot.
Raducanu 4-2 Sakkari*
Emma Raducanu just has that extra something doesn't she? The Briton is able to stay in two rallies that look to be going against her, outlasting her opponent who twice nets to hand her a hold.
A tricky game well-navigated.
Kartal 4-6 0-5 Gauff*
We go back to deuce for a third time but Coco Gauff executes a perfectly placed drop shot and Sonay Kartal can't return. Advantage Gauff.
This time Gauff takes it.
She will serve for the match.
*Raducanu 3-2 Sakkari
Naomi Broady

It's interesting to see Raducanu throwing in the odd loopy ball and it’s Sakkari looking to go toe-to-to-toe with Raducanu and I’m not sure Sakkari can beat her like this.
If you look at the players Raducanu has struggled against, it’s the players with a lot of variety and I’m not sure Sakkari will beat her like this, bashing from the back of the court.
*Raducanu 3-2 Sakkari
Oh that is brave - and very, very good. On the run, Emma Raducanu hits a powerful forehand down the line which Maria Sakkari can only slice into the net. Deuce.
Kartal 4-6 0-4 Gauff*
Sonay Kartal saves a second break point by running Coco Gauff across the baseline and eventually forcing an error.
Aggressive but effective defence.
Now it's Gauff's turn to defend as the power shots come her way and Kartal is guilty of an unforced error. Third break point for Gauff.
*Raducanu 3-2 Sakkari
Emma Raducanu double faults to bring up 30-30 and then fires a forehand into the net.
30-40, break point.

Sakkari needed that hold. Otherwise the first set was in danger of getting away from her quickly.
The Greek player has made 13 unforced errors so far. Only two have come from Raducanu's racquet.
