Massive game there from Carlos Alcaraz.

He came up with the big serves at the right time and creates that scoreboard pressure, up 5-4 in the first set.

Now Frances Tiafoe, having had those chances, had those break points, he has got to play a strong service game to keep himself in the first set.

  2. Alcaraz saves three break pointspublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 5 July

Having saved two break points, Carlos Alcaraz double faults for the first time in the match to give Frances Tiafoe a third.

An ace gets him out of trouble on that occasion and two more big serves secure a vital hold for the three-time Grand Slam champion.

Quickly back to Court One where Jasmine Paolini is continuing her fine form which saw her take an incredibly tight first set.

The Italian seventh seed sets up two break points and eventually takes Bianca Andreescu's serve with a smash on the approach. Top-tier tennis.

  6. Break point for Tiafoepublished at 14:19 British Summer Time 5 July

    Alcaraz 4-4 Tiafoe*

Carlos Alcaraz has played some fabulous shots but they have been mixed in with too many loose ones in the past few games.

Up 40-30, he goes long with a backhand slice under no pressure and then he gifts Frances Tiafoe a break point by putting a volley into the net.

He looked to have the point won but a lapse of concentration ramps up the pressure on the Spaniard again.

The stoppage certainly didn’t help Paula Badosa - who was serving for the set.

Daria Kasatkina is ripping winners of her own now and the confidence is flowing.

Frances Tiafoe is an entertainer. He's waving his arms up at the crowd, encouraging them to bring the noise.

And they do. There's people on their feet, pumping their fists and the sound around Centre Court goes up another level.

Both players are covering plenty of the court.

    Big game right now.

Frances Tiafoe is enjoying himself now and gestures for the crowd to make more noise after winning another brilliantly entertaining point to hold.

Carlos Alcaraz had stretched to get the ball back when it appeared impossible having hit an impressive tweener earlier in the game.

On both occasions, Tiafoe is waiting at the net to put away the volley, though. This one is really starting to heat up now...

It's baffling how many people this week have popped a bottle of bubbly right when a player is about to serve.

At the start it was quite funny, but I can see a few people giving dirty looks as they turn their heads towards the culprit.

On a wet day at Wimbledon, it is fitting we have Rain Man here on Centre Court.

Dustin Hoffman memorably starred alongside Tom Cruise in the moving Oscar-winning film about a callous wheeler-dealer and his autistic brother, as well as featuring in other classics like All The President's Men, The Graduate and Meet the Fockers.

The 86-year-old Hollywood legend is no stranger to Wimbledon.

In 2012, he watched as a guest of Serena Williams in her team box.

Today, the Royal Box will have to do.

So little in it between Jasmine Paolini and Bianca Andreescu, a tie-break needed to decide the set and the Italian 42-40 ahead on points won. A netted forehand from the Canadian at 4-5 in the breaker gave Paolini the opening.

It's been intense stuff and both players have gone off court for a well-deserved break.
