  1. Wang breaks for second time in set twopublished at 11:46 British Summer Time 26 May

    Raducanu 7-5 1-5 Wang*

Emma Raducanu takes a huge swing and finds the line with an effortless forehand as she looks to go big and conserve a bit of energy.

That brings her to 30-30 on serve, but Wang Xinyu will have another break point as she looks to capitalise on her opponent's dip here, and she's gifted it by Raducanu.

So, can Emma Raducanu produce a comeback in this second set, or are we going the distance?

Considering how she was feeling in the first set, and the medical timeout she required, Raducanu will really be hoping she can do this in straight sets. But she appears to be running low on energy right now.

  3. Alcaraz begins title defencepublished at 11:42 British Summer Time 26 May

There's two defending champions in action at the minute, with Carlos Alcaraz about to get under way on Court Suzanne Lenglen.

Alcaraz had been set to face former world number four Kei Nishikori, but the Japanese withdrew a few days ago, meaning Italian qualifier Giulio Zeppieri has stepped up to the plate.

Alcaraz arrives in Paris having lost just one of his 16 matches on clay this season and with titles in Monte Carlo and Rome under his belt.

  4. Wang saves break points to hold servepublished at 11:41 British Summer Time 26 May

    *Raducanu 7-5 1-4 Wang

Emma Raducanu makes a good return on her second break point but Wang Xinyu is on to it in a flash and takes the game to deuce.

A run of four consecutive points from two break points down ensures the 43rd-ranked Chinese player takes a commanding 4-1 lead - although she remains just the one break ahead.

  5. 'Raducanu's moonball is really quite effective'published at 11:39 British Summer Time 26 May

I think Raducanu's moonball is really quite effective. She uses it really cleverly.

She does a lot of what Andy Murray did in his career because whenever he was pushed out defensively, he was known for those big high moonballs. It allowed him to reset the point.

I think Raducanu is definitely similar in that department, she neutralises what has just happened and then gets herself back into the point.

  6. Break points Raducanupublished at 11:39 British Summer Time 26 May

    Raducanu 7-5 1-3 Wang*

Emma Raducanu sets about launching an immediate response, crashing in a forehand for 0-30.

The Briton hits long as she goes for the big finish on another forehand, but she'll have two shots at breaking back as Wang misses the line.

  7. Sramkova holdspublished at 11:37 British Summer Time 26 May

    Sramkova 3-2 Swiatek*

So far so good for Slovakia's Rebecca Sramkova.

After getting through her first two service games easily enough, Sramkova is put under a bit more pressure in her third as Iga Swiatek moves through the gears.

We remain on serve on Court Philippe Chatrier. No break points and nothing to separate the pair as it stands.

  8. Wang breaks in second setpublished at 11:36 British Summer Time 26 May

    Raducanu 7-5 1-3 Wang*

Emma Raducanu survives the first break point, but not the second.

It's advantage Wang Xinyu in the second set.

  9. Break points Wangpublished at 11:35 British Summer Time 26 May

    *Raducanu 7-5 1-2 Wang

Wang Xinyu is primed at the net after Emma Raducanu gives her the chance to charge on to a poor drop shot and volleys home as she looks to go after her opponent's serve.

And that's a terrific shot! Wang guides a backhand perfectly down the line for two break points.

  10. 'Wang is trying to extend some of these rallies'published at 11:32 British Summer Time 26 May

    *Raducanu 7-5 1-2 Wang

    Annabel Croft
Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra and BBC Sounds

It doesn't look like Raducanu's movement is the smoothest from the back of the court, but she is managing to scramble to a few forehands deep into the corner.

However, Wang is trying to extend some of these rallies instead of handing over more breaks. The minute she does hang in there and extends some of these rallies, you can see Raducanu suffering a bit more physically.

  11. Wang holds servepublished at 11:32 British Summer Time 26 May

    *Raducanu 7-5 1-2 Wang

Wang Xinyu steadies herself after that run or errors with a rapid hold of serve to love.

This court is so close to Court Suzanne Lenglen that you can hear the PA system as though you’re in there.

We just learn Carlos Alcaraz is being introduced as he walks out to play his opening match.

There is even a little cheer from someone watching here.

  13. Raducanu holds servepublished at 11:29 British Summer Time 26 May

    Raducanu 7-5 1-1 Wang*

Hmm. Emma Raducanu decides not to go after a Wang Xinyu forehand despite a rather central position, as her opponent takes the first point on the Briton's serve.

A misread, or something more? Raducanu brushes it off and a series of misses from Wang help her to what is a rather comfortable hold in the end.

  14. Swiatek starts title defence bidpublished at 11:26 British Summer Time 26 May

    Sramkova 2-1 Swiatek*

Iga Swiatek has got her title defence under way on Court Philippe Chatrier. The three-time defending champion is up against Slovakia's Rebecca Sramkova in the first round.

Sramkova doesn't look too fazed about playing Swiatek, though.

It's been a solid start from the world number 42, who has got through two service games comfortably and took Swiatek to deuce on the Pole's serve.

Remember, Swiatek isn't on top form at the moment - she hasn't won a WTA title this season.

  15. Wang holds servepublished at 11:26 British Summer Time 26 May

    *Raducanu 7-5 0-1 Wang

It is a crucial game for Wang Xinyu as she attempts to regain a foothold in this match, and she remains in a rally long enough to see Emma Raducanu miss as she recovers from break point down to hold serve at the start of set two.

Showing more heart has been one of the most impressive things about Raducanu this season, in my opinion.

For so long she was accused of not having the minerals to scrap it out, but we’ve seen her fight through physical issues increasingly more.

Something isn’t right today, that’s clear, but she’s still finding a way to win.

  17. 'Way too many unforced errors at key moments from Wang'published at 11:23 British Summer Time 26 May

    Raducanu 7-5 0-0 Wang*

    Annabel Croft

This performance is very much in keeping with Emma Raducanu's character.

She just gets a lot of balls back into play. I think there were a lot of positives to take from that first set, in terms of how she struck the ball and how she returned the ball.

It had its moments, with some dips and fluctuations, but Wang Xinyu made 21 unforced errors compared to the 10 unforced errors from Raducanu.

There have been way too many unforced errors at key moments from Wang.

  18. Break point Raducanupublished at 11:23 British Summer Time 26 May

    Raducanu 7-5 0-0 Wang*

Emma Raducanu seems to be OK. There is no obvious issue with her movement, or the power and accuracy of her hitting at the start of set two as she forces Wang Xinyu to deuce in the opening game.

It could get even better than that, too. Break point!

  19. Postpublished at 11:21 British Summer Time 26 May

    Raducanu 7-5 0-0 Wang*

More water and a banana for Emma Raducanu as she recovers for set two, and she applies more ice to keep cool.

Boxing off that first set will surely help - if only psychologically - as she tries to make a full recovery following that medical timeout.

  20. Game and first set - Raducanupublished at 11:17 British Summer Time 26 May

    Raducanu 7-5 0-0 Wang*

Long from Wang Xinyu, who has come off it completely following that medical timeout.

That is of huge relief to Emma Raducanu who, as she tries to settle back in, benefits from another miss from her opponent.

Three set points... Only one required!

Although not feeling 100%, Raducanu has her first set at this year's Roland Garros.
