It looks like Emma Raducanu is having something done to her eye here, she is rubbing the her cheek but it's quite high up near her eye.

I don't think she is feeling 100%. I think her whole physical expression throughout this first set hasn't been quite right, even though she's doing extremely well to keep on top of the scoreline.

The chair umpire has announced a three-minute timeout for Emma Raducanu while she receives treatment. She's still sat upright in her chair while she is assessed by the doctors.

Fingers crossed that gives her enough time to feel well enough to continue.

Raducanu’s backhand - often her most reliable shot - buckled badly as she served for the set.

The Brit has showed resilience more regularly this season and bounced back to break again.

However, she still has an issue and has called for the doctor.

As I said earlier, she looked a little spaced out and lacking energy, now she is dabbing her forehead as the doctor assesses the situation.

It's not super hot in Paris today, so it's unlikely that's a reason for Emma Raducanu feeling unwell.

She's having a few tests, including her blood pressure taken, as she continues to try and rehydrate.

Emma Raducanu has called for the doctor.

Always a worrying sign. She's rubbing ice on her eyes and taking on water as she has a conversation about whatever the issue is.

That's a big setback for Emma Raducanu, who had been playing with freedom and confidence.

But now the pressure is back on at the business end of this opening set.

Wang Xinyu cracks a backhand cross-court for 30-30 - but Raducanu hangs in and will have a break point.

Emma Raducanu crashes a backhand down the line to save the first break point, and then unleashes a forehand down the line after sending Wang Xinyu off to the opposite side of the court.

Two saved, quite impressively. One more to come...

But it's one too many for Raducanu.

Big mistake by Wang Xinyu as she decides to leave a shot and Emma Raducanu finds the court. That was well in - and it could be costly for the Chinese player.

A timely ace gives Wang game point, though. Oh, and another! Great save, and Raducanu will have to serve out the set.

Standing at 6ft tall, Wang is quite the imposing figure.

Added to that, her screams of ‘Come on!’ are quite startling - especially when you’re looking at your phone typing updates - and her stares back down the court are pretty sharp.

The forehand has some real venom when she’s in a spot to take it in aggressively, but she has shown a delicate drop-shot on a couple of occasions too.

This has been a decent scrap.

That's a terrific sliced drop shot by Wang Xinyu after pinning Emma Raducanu to the back of the court, ensuring she keeps in touch with the Briton at 15-15.

Raducanu is producing a bit more variety with her second serves and catches her opponent out as she moves to safety.

Another punch of the air. She's one game away from a first set at the 2025 French Open.

It feels like Wang Xinyu's forehand is a little vulnerable - that is the side that seems to have been breaking down for her at the minute.

I think she is someone that needs to be in position and have time on the ball to really be aggressive on her forehand.

She's handing over a lot of free points to Raducanu.

Wang Xinyu flies through her latest service game, taking it without reply and sealing it with a brilliant ace down the centre.

That's a great response and Emma Raducanu will be in no doubt that she still has a lot of work to do to wrap up this set.
