Fairey Swordfish: People across the county celebrated VE Day for the 80th time with community events and memorial services this week. The Fairey Swordfish, affectionately known as the "Stringbag," was a biplane torpedo bomber that played a pivotal role in several key naval battles during World War Two. The Navy Wings flew the plane over Somerset on Thursday.

Never too late: Molly Hutton, a grandmother and 92-year-old, had a surprise when her family asked if she wanted to "see a band" at the Riff Corner in Clevedon and she walked into a surprise hen do - 70 years after walking up the aisle. She had mentioned she never had one before her wedding, so family and friends planned one in secret.
